You think weapon x sucks. Got it. Thank you for the post. Move along.
Quoted from Rarehero:Is there any multiball in pinball that's easier to start?
I don't say this often, but you are SO FULL OF SH.... right now! Seriously! You're going to say that Wolverine is easier than starting ANY MODE IN STARGATE? SHOOT THE PYRAMID, MAN!
Heard you loyal X-Men owners got new code huh???
Well Im here to tell you how bad the layout is and what a total failure the entire game is since I have nothing better to do.....
Quoted from Rarehero:Is there any multiball in pinball that's easier to start?
Stargate!
You can start multiball directly off your first plunge of the game.
Edit: Shit Frax beat me to it.
Deadpool is freaking awesome. I love that he knocks on the DMD. It's not what I would have picked for them to do, but I love how it turned out. Major bonus points for utilizing the apron flashers. Way cool.
End of game flasher show is great. Magneto magnet/spinner is definitely stronger. Lots and lots of awesome in this update.
I really do not understand the Weapon X complaints...it's not a fantastic mode, but it doesn't suck either. I don't think I've ever started it more than twice a game. I understand it's not for everyone, but I like it.
Very happy Wolverine owner here!

Too Funny
I gave men a solid b. I am complaining as Stern failed to listen to change weapon x and at y he very least add victory laps.

My game magnet cannot hold 4 balls. Can anyone's catch all 4 @and spin
Quoted from hank527:My game magnet cannot hold 4 balls. Can anyone's catch all 4 @and spin
Are the balls old? Could be magnetized and cause some weird repelling effects.
Quoted from hank527:My game magnet cannot hold 4 balls. Can anyone's catch all 4 @and spin
Yup. The way they fall and group together affects how well it spins, but it always does it. Once in awhile it won't catch all 4 depending on how they come out, but it gets them all more often than not. Three works WAY better though...they group tightly and really wing around. With four, one is usually sticking out far enough to wack Wolverine on the way around.
Quoted from Frax:I don't say this often, but you are SO FULL OF SH.... right now! Seriously! You're going to say that Wolverine is easier than starting ANY MODE IN Stargate? SHOOT THE PYRAMID, MAN!
Clearly I haven't played Stargate more than a handful of times lol
...but are "Shoot the Pyramid" modes all Multiballs? Is the pyramid 4 inches from the flippers?
Anyway - I thought Wolverine's mode was relevant discussion but clearly there's mega sensitivity here...so - I'll leave you guys alone. Go play your games for f*cks sake

Interesting. Mine catches all 4 no problem and none hit Wolverine. Seeing the pinballs all drop in and spinning is one of the coolest things to see for me.

Not everybody is sensitive. I get it, not everybody likes certain things. Lots of games have easy multi-balls where you hit a big object enough times and a MB starts. If that was all there was to the game, then I would hate it too. At least one easy multi-ball is a Gary Stern thing. He has stated over and over that a new player should at least see one MB per game.
What separates this easy multi-ball compared to other easy multi-balls games, is that this game is deeper than most other games. Monster Bash comes to mind as the Frankenstein MB is just as easy.
Quoted from Rarehero:Are the balls old? Could be magnetized and cause some weird repelling effects.
Agreed. Switch out the balls. Mine got to acting weird and did the same thing. Additionally, mine would occasionally have a ball remain on the wolverine magnet at he beginning of weapon x multiball, even after de-energized, and you would have to shake the machine to get it loose. Switched the balls out and everything started to work again.
What am I doing wrong here? I've had no problem updating this game in the past, but I can't seem to get my computer to open the bin file. Is this one different than the rest, or is my computer doodoo?

Had the same problem. Don't open the bin. Just unzip it and drag the bin to your stick. If the file has a czpg tag or something similar you clicked it one too many times.

Thank you so much. I was pulling my hair out.
Quoted from turbo20lbs:The Wolverine toy is incredibly engaging, especially when his arm breaks off to become "part" of the game. This mode does not come often or easily though, only the elite can pull it off.
I can't stop laughing........talk about funny....yes, I own an X-MEN LE and truly if that ever happens to me I am going to have to laugh now after this post !!!
Classic !!!
The magnets are much, much stronger. Magneto is more of a jerk than ever. I have never seen the ball thrown so violently; both for Magneto and Wolvie. That's a definite change in this code, which, IMHO, improves the game greatly and makes it even more of a battle. Well done!

I agree! I was wondering if it was just me.
Quoted from coz6:I agree! I was wondering if it was just me.
Nope. Those magnets are so much fun now. Reminds me of the Vengeance battle when the ball is shot back at you! I was on the fence about XMen and said it'd be the game to go if I ever had to sell a game, and now, nope...

Quoted from Breadfan:Is it worth the time downloading?
Without a doubt.
It does nothing but make the game better than it was in v1.3, IMO
Long weekend coming up, check. Wife and kids out of town, check. Playing lots of X-men, double check.
Awesome. I can't wait until next week and someone says it is next week again.
Quoted from dgoett:and Metallica?.....?......?
Quoted from Crrispy:Next week for sure! lol
3 balls no problem 4 I think hit something when it spins. Maybe dissolves elbow ill have to watch more closely
Wow....I was afraid they had given up on this great game. It really rocks now. I'm so glad I hung on to it. Its fast, and a ramp game for sure. And we are finally getting rewarded well for ramp combos. Hang on for lots of fun guys!
Quoted from hank527:3 balls no problem 4 I think hit something when it spins. Maybe dissolves elbow ill have to watch more closely
That Wolverine figure has to be mounted PERFECTLY or else various things can happen - one of them is the spinning balls grazing his waist or elbow. If it's his elbow, loosen his bracket screws, push him up a tad, then retighten....do it with the Ice Ramp in the swung-out position so you can make sure your adjustment doesn't put him in the way of the ramp.
I must have gotten lucky. Mine was perfect right out of the factory and has never needed any adjustment. It was one of the first Magnetos built too!
If I had an X-Men I'd replace Wolverine with that smaller, nicer bust, with this arms/claws crossed across his chest. The scale is much nicer, but also no danger of anything on it hitting the ball when it shouldn't.

Already tried it, detailed in this thread:
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/rcades-x-men-full-bowen-mod-attempt-1
I ended up going back to a re painted stock Wolvie because the resin, even with the foam cushion attached to the front of the bust, started cracking because of all the abuse. And for the cost of huge bust combined with how much of a bitch it was to drill and route out, it was just better to stick with the stock one.
Besides, even with the slimmer profile, I didn't really feel that huge of a change in gameplay as opposed to the stock Wolvie when repositioned.
Awesome news!!
Sometimes great patience is rewarded with great things - can't wait for the full Read-Me file.
Thank you STERN!!!
Kim
Rcade,
Thanks for the warning - was thinking about doing this as well - now what to do with my Wolverine Bust.

Oh lame, it looked so much better!
Quoted from hank527:Weapon X still is horrible. It needs something to alternate or victory laps. I got it 3 times in one game again. I would have loved if Stern had switched that up.
That for me kills the game play and makes it a solid B title
new code took it from a C+ to a Solid b or B + if they would have done something better with weapon X it would have been major and pushed X-men into the keeper status. Instead I'm on the fence. If anyone wants a truly decked out Wolverine #14 LE mine is for sale $6K fully loaded with a ton of mods ICEMAN, diff toys, nigh crawler lights, blackbird lights, shaker, ice on the ice man ramp, new posts and under 300 plays and mint in every way and truly flawless. Also comes with Extra Wolverine Bash toy.
I assume this is the last update we are getting for X-men
anyone time this?
