Me too. And that's with already playing in 4 events this year (30+ WPPR Points) and never finishing lower than 3rd. Splitting up the historical events absolutely killed MN players because for years monthly events (that were worth basically nothing to begin with) were all we had. You do well each month and get a combined 12 points for the year for that event...now those 12 points drop to 2. I love it going forward as our monthly tournaments will actually have the value they deserve, but in the short term it sucks.

I appreciate the amount of work people like Josh but into the IFPA and I can see the need to create a rule like the #1 new player rule if this is the kind of thing that is going on, but I would encourage you to potentially decrease the number from 5 events to 3. In MN, we are down to a single monthly IFPA tournament now that a couple other locations have bowed out of the IFPA format. Barring any one off special events, that would mean a new player would almost take half a year to be counted for value. I think that is a little excessive, especially if they can't attend every monthly like many can't, which then makes it ever worse. We run the same format that we have run for years, there isn't any gaming of the system here and I have to say people doing things like making a best of 11 single series or signing everyone up for a "tournament" at their location just to increase WPPR points and in turn ruining things for directors doing things the right way, has to be one of the most pathetic things I have ever heard of. That crap should be called out and publically shamed like it is here.
