Quoted from yancy:Others have tried this a couple times. It didn't go ever well. It's a small industry. Many of us long-time hobbyists have friends who work in the industry. They aren't multi-millionaire celebrities numb to public ridicule, they're just regular folks working a job they love.
I'm as guilty as anyone of complaining about aspects of games I don't like, but making a literal show of it seems a bit much.
All true but from everything I have seen or heard, Stern does listen to us. Just listen to George Gomez riff on playfield dimples and that they are working on it, he said it's deeper clear coat that's the issue he said on Franchi's podcast. I was able to communicate with him about that. The guy cares. Stern seems to have addressed the dreaded triple P, playfield post pooling but I am not sure if its been satisfactory to pin owners, maybe just the art was kept away from post locations I am not an expert on that. I do know that Stern hears you and me. I cannot speak for JJP, but people are dropping serious money on pins, whoever is making them. Meaning, some people participate in the buy\sell\trade model to keep their cash outlay down. I think those type of owners just want to retain re-sale or trade value on the second hand market free of perceived nuisance quality defects.
