    Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for contributing to this forum.
I have found it a great source of information and entertainment.

Quick story as to how i got here.

Bought a new home last June and lo and behold it came with a Data East Lethal Weapon 3. Played the heck out of it with the wife, even snapped a drop target in the process. Bought replacement parts and Figured out how to fix it myself and went deeper into the hobby.

Anyway, Monster Bash Remake Special Edition on order and expected to arrive next week and i fear thats just the beginning

LW3 is pretty good to find with the house! You will love MBr SE. And you are correct, it is just starting.

    Welcome aboard.

    #4 5 years ago

I hope the new house has lots of room!

    #5 5 years ago

Thanks guys , Its having a Domino effect with friends and family too.

I currently have 1 brother and a good friend of mine looking for good used deals out there after playing Lethal Weapon with me

The hardest part is trying to figure out what to go after next hahaha

I will be sure to put some MB pics up after delivery.

    Some pics LW3

Yep, I started out with the intention of just getting one...BSD...that plan failed miserably as I left the show I got it at with 2 machines :p...then I said 6 was the absolute capacity I could fit in this house...that became 8 (the two with easily removable heads went to a back room), and I have a 9th on the way whenever my ACNC is ready.

But pinball has been a gift that keeps on giving...

At 8 machines and spending many sleepless nights working on mods, my bitchy ex GF said, "You don't need EIGHT F$%*ING PINBALL MACHINES!!!" (she thought we needed a 5th couch) and left me the morning after one of my up all nighters to get a mod run out on time (knew her 11 years).

Current GF (since June) supports my pinball addiction, and as we talk about her moving in with me, I want to give her lots of her own space in the house, and I tell her I know I don't have room for more pinball machines. I tell her, you can have these rooms, this space, etc., and she says, "I don't need all that space...what are you going to put *there*?" I say I have nothing to put *there*. She says, "Well then you have room for more pinball machines!"

She's also gorgeous (IMO), incredibly giving, makes me laugh like nobody has been able to before, yadda yadda... -- In other words--pinball helped me dodge a bullet

Sounds like the Pinball was a blessing to you. I had a similar experience but it was my wristwatch addiction that was the "culprit" Haha I then found the Love of my life, married her and We are now Pinball Addicts together!

Thankfully in NYC its not hard to find machines.

Modern Pinball on 3rd ave Murray Hill Manhattan is a great place and i recently heard there is a Laundromat in Brooklyn with 20+ machines ( good ones too MM, AFM ect..) So yes doing lots of "research"

I must say Monster Bash was a blind buy, i just went off all the positive things i found on this forum.

Split between UES and Plandome Nassau county.

Pins only fit in the house though, APT would not be very accommodating because its tiny !

Perfect! Have fun filling it up. You will love MBr.

What you really need to acquire next is the very first Twilight Zone prototype...which just happens to be for sale currently.

LOL i saw that. Pricey unit indeed.
Maybe a true collector would scoff at me but i would rather spread that $$ out over 10 or more great pins instead.
There is a Twilight zone for sale on facebook marketplace in NY for $7500 i considered buying it over MBr but there is something to be said about being the first one to open up a new toy that pushed me in the MBr direction. Perhaps in the near future though.

    Hi Everyone,

So it has arrived. My first New Pin ever. Took it down into the basement by myself with no experience. it slid down nicely, no damage done !
Anyway this is the first of i assume many more, already trying to decide what to get next???
I am thinking Attack from Mars SE but a part of me also wants a true modern Pin but its so hard to pick a Stern and I have read the quality of Stern is not great? Perhaps JJP and Pirates?

    Some Pics, thanks !

    She's a beaut!

    Nice looking Monster Bash too!

    #21 5 years ago

    Quick Question.

Is there supposed to be a "shaker motor" in the Monster Bash SE?
And if so did i have to manually connect it?

i ask because the machine is not "shaking"

    #22 5 years ago

No shaker in SE. I put one in mine. The plug was hidden under some wires on the left side of the cabinet. Put in motor and go to settings to enable the shaker. You will love it.

    #23 5 years ago

Thanks Mike, any recommendations where i can buy one for a reasonable price?

    #24 5 years ago

Great to have another NY'er. We should have a NYC pin meetup. I have to admit I was confused when you wrote about getting several machines and saw NY NY. I'm a little further uptown from you in an old schoolhouse and actually do have space for a machine or two (but will probably stick with one). I think one in a NYC apartment looks fun. Two in a living room might seem obsessive. If a girl walked in and saw two, I think they might run..

I was recently thinking what would be the best themed single machine for a NYC apartment.

Maybe Twilight Zone? I have an Addams, which would be on the list. Maybe an Elvira, Houdini, TOM?

    #25 5 years ago

I need to find a new realtor. Every house I ever looked at only came with leaky pipes or some old boxes of cloths in the attic. Never a Pinball Machine!! Congrats and welcome to the addiction! Many Very helpful and extremely knowledgable people on this forum which Really makes the hobby enjoyable. Plus meeting new friends is Always icing on the cake. Good luck to you.

    #26 5 years ago

I buy Sterns all the time for location and at home.

Don’t worry about quality as they are just fine and a lot of fun!!

And what a cool way to enter the hobby too!

My shaker is from American Pinball. I got it with the power upgrade credit for Houdini. It was "free". There motor is $100. I had to change the connector on the end. Pinball life has good shakers. I got a call from CGC. They said any motor not from them will void the warranty. I have no issues with the AP shaker in MBr for months. It works great! Do not use Red Tremors. They are too violent.

I am definately open to a GTG, however i keep my pins at my home on L.I.
I could fit maybe 1 pin in the apartment but that would take up my bar space ! LoL

Thanks i plan to hit some local spots with pinball collections to "research" my next purchase. Stern is not off the table but this porates of the caribean machine from JJP hqs kind of caught my eye. I have to play it first. MBr was a blind purchase, i am really happy i got it though. Lots of fun !

Smart decision. No pinball or manufacturer should ever be considered off the table. Try to find games to play and in short order you will know what fits your interest. This hobby is to expensive to make rash decisions or assume you will like what everyone else likes. As for POTC JJP, in our collection we have found that game to be one of the best ever made from top to bottom. Good luck with your new addiction known as Pinball!!!
