Welcome and War Eagle! Several Auburnites on here, including a couple who live on the Plains, I'm sure they will chime in.....

War Eagle!

We have an Auburn Pinball Club that I'll PM you more information about.

#6 6 years ago

Thanks! I was doing a google search and actually stumbled on to a year old post for an Auburn club and that how I ended up here! I moved back to Auburn about 3 years ago and love it!

LOL, yeah Maffewl, it was your post a year ago or so that got me here!

I feel like I could be an honorary Auburnite. Just spent all summer staying at the Holiday Inn in Opelika. (Worked on starting up the new Golden State Foods Plant - off Exit 66).

I am most likely coming back down at some point, so if there truly is a club I may just wander in if that's ok. Also, what is up with only 1 brewery for Miles?

Finally, I warn you I am a Gator Fan

I just bought a pin from someone from Auburn and I think he told me that he was picking up a local pin the other day. May want to search around or start a thread to find others in your area. I'm not sure of the Pinside handle of the guy I bought my pin from.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to pinside and welcome to pinball in Auburn. I left you a voice mail the other day after getting your info from William. Lots of people here on pinside to help diagnose problems. We have several club members from Auburn to Columbus that can help you with problems or offer up some good pinball in their homes. There is currently only 2 pins in the wild locally and that is at Cyberzone (BTTF and IMVE). I help them maintain them when I have time. The Iron Man Vault Edition plays really fast and nasty. The Back to the future is having some flipper issues as I think their tech may have the wrong coils in it. Stephen and I just moved into new homes so once we get things in order we'll be having a club get together. We'll keep you posted. If you're on facebook, look up the Auburn Pinball Club and join that page. We post events there and other pinball stuff. Give me a call when you get time.

War Eagle! I get back to Auburn over the holidays since I grew up there and my parents are still in town. used to play Taxi at Foy Union when there were pins on campus back in the 1980s! Anyhow, hope to play some when I am back in December, maybe we can do a tournament if folks are up for it?

Let us know when you are coming as we were thinking about having a tournament but nothing formal yet, either way we can play at Scott or my house. And as always WAR EAGLE!

Am actually in the midst of figuring out travel plans for holidays. My girlfriend may come and she'd love it to have a tourney as well so let's definitely plan something fun. Will update everyone on my travel plans once I figure them out. Most likely before/after/around Christmas but before NYE...

Stern's 1977 Pinball is a very nice game, it's just pure no-nonsense pinball! The EM version is very rare! I've got the Solid State version (far less rare) but it still has chimes so I just pretend it's an EM.

Any of you Alabama people making it to HAAG in Houston this weekend?

How's 12/23 look for folks for a tournament? Still talking to folks about where it could be hosted etc, but that's looking like the best date based on when I'll be in Auburn etc.

So, ridiculously long drive, I know, but all of you Alabama guys are welcome to come to Lake Charles, Louisiana for the December 2nd IFPA tourneys PavBall and I are hosting. We have great casino hotels your families would enjoy and will have two mains and four side tourneys. Feel free to pm me.

ATL is a little closer, the GA Last Chance Tournament is Dec 9.

There is someone from Columbus coming up if you want a ride. Last year we had a couple of Auburn guys there too.

Yea, but then they have to go hang out with you SEC East people. I’ll be serving free corn dogs at my tourney.

It's even worse than that - I'm a Buckeye!

That is worse, but at least you have a former legendary SEC coach leading you now. That’s something at least.

Who got his first coaching job at OSU under Earl Bruce. I think there was a guy named Nick that coached under Earl too. Many of the SEC coaches have stronger ties to Woody's coaching tree than Bear's.

I originally had this scheduled for the week before, but realized it was Championship weekend. Most of the players up here said, what championship? Not a lot of football pinheads in ATL.

There's another GA tourney on 12/16 at Portal and possibly another one at Portal Pinball after that that I may run if Bryan lets me That one would be on a weekday night though - likely on Dec 20-22 or 26-27th...
