My Wife and I recently bought a Space Invader machine and we love it. we are both hooked now and I have watched a million videos from restortion to gameplay. we noticed while I would show her videos of newer machines, we hated how they sounded. We thought that the new machines were all lights and toys without the dings, bells and bouncing LOUD balls. BUT, we went to a local arcade and played Ghostbusters and relized that the new machins are awesome in a more quiet and BRIGHTER way. my question is, why are the older machines so much clunkier, louder and not as smooth? we did notice that the glass is about 10 inches higher away from the field, and there is more plastic covering the wood, but how are they soooooooooooo much smoother and quiet?

wow, almost all questions hit. as for smooth, I am thinking like when the ball comes down from the top, lands on a flipper, on the newer machinnes, it kinda stays put untill you flip it, on the Space Invaders, it will hit the flipper and bounce right off. the plungers are sooooooooooooooo smooth, but on the SI, you have to have pull the hell out of it to make the ball go over. Im also guessing its the age also, like stated above.

can this all be bought in one assembly?
