Do not take loans out for toys. Very bad way to start the hobby, and it won't build good habits. I'm not your dad, and you can do what you want, but bottom line:these are TOYS. Take loans out for emergencies/life and death/things that MATTER.
For $2000ish, I'm going to go on the oddball route and recommend StarShip Troopers. You can get well for under $2000 still, and there's a lot of fun stuff going on in that game. Add in the unusual 3rd flipper, couple multiballs, rocking music, fun callouts, funny animations on the DMD, and you have a rocking pin for sub-$2000.
