    Quoted from nwpinball:

Don't loose hope, maybe they will make a Barry Manilow pin next.

Especially now that he finally came out.

    He's getting great PR

Slayer - 36 years and hitting harder now than ever

    #32 6 years ago
    Quoted from Damonator:

I'm sure I'll catch heat for this, but, being a christian this would not only be a pass for me, it would be a pass on all future Sterns indefinitely.

Tom Araya's father is a preacher.

    That whole family is blessed.

Feels too niche, but who else from the Nuclear Blast roster would it be?

Dante Alighieri wrote a poem about Hell, that does not mean he was not a Christian.

Taddeo di Bartolo painted pictures of Hell, that does not mean he was not a Christian.

Tom Araya has sung songs about Hell, that does not mean that he is not a Christian? (he is).

    -

Would you pass on all future libraries because they contain the Dante's Inferno poem?

Would you pass on visiting the College of San Gimignano because they have a painting by Bartolo?

    Quoted from Damonator:

Are you really trying to convince me that Slayer is a Christian band because one of it's members claims to be a Christian?

    No.

Is Stephen King a "Christian Author" because he is a Christian?

Your inverse logic does not make any sense...

    -

Black Sabbath for a while did not play on Sundays, because Geezer Butler was such a strong Catholic.

That does not make Sabbath a Christian band, nor does the fact that they've sung songs about Satan make them anti-god.

Artists find all different ways to express themselves, and Allah has blessed all of them.

    Quoted from cscmtp:

NO way they do a slayer pin.

It would let Stern break away from the pussyfication of it's music pins.

Slayer is well loved by everyone under 50, but just hardcore enough to not be played on Clearchannel radio stations.

If you think about it, Stern has not had a true "outlaw"music pin since Ted Nugent was adopting underage girls to have sex with.

    Quoted from TheLaw:

Do you even know anyone (not from this site) under 50?

I know my teenage nephews and my 20 year old niece.

They love Slayer, and they are Jewish.

I don't consider ... Kiss .....as openly satanic bands.

    Quoted from PDX_Pinball:

    I'm under 50 and I hate Slayer.

No one cares if you love or hate Slayer.

    -

You can always find some oddball soul who hates Hendrix, Bach, DiMeola, Miles, or any other artist who is considered to be the master of their musical genre.

    Quoted from Damonator:

I had heard growing up it was Knights In Satan's Service

There are maybe 4 Jews ever knighted in history.

Gene Simmons is not one of them.

    Quoted from Gryszzz:

It's a long, weird story, but I used to be Myspace friends with Carson Daily's then writer, now wife. She wrote one of the funniest comedy blogs I've ever read...I mean this gal was absolutely hilarious. And drop dead gorgeous of course. Lesson is: being a talentless hack doesn't mean ya can't have a 10 million dollar mansion and super hot wife kids.

Those kids will grow up worshiping Satan for sure.

Yet here I am on Saturday morning in my slippers listening to frank Sinatra

That is life's confirmation of what the mirror has been telling you; you're getting old

    Quoted from PW79:

    Is that a CD?
Lol holy sheeyat. I dont even think new cars have CD players any more

That's why it was only .99 cents

20 years from now the next generation of hipsters will reminisce about the CD's wonderful "harsh digital sound" you just can't get from a MQA file.

    Quoted from hawkmoon:

Gryszz sounds like he's in,but, this is aiming at a small portion of interest here. Not family friendly. And I wonder if the punk,hip-hoppers buy pins for their decorations,or just to smash up!!!???

99% of pinball owners are NOT on Pinside.

I go to people's homes all the time to fix their games, they have NEVER heard of Pinside.

(before you ask, 75% of people have TAF, Bally Playboy or both, in their basements)

Slayer is Stern's chance to let their nuts hang.

A limited run pin to keep the line running that used to run MMr.

Not family friendly, not a child's superhero, not a children's movie, not an old classic rock band overplayed on Clearchannel radio.....an actual metal band pin that a real man can buy without his wife's permission.

    #383 6 years ago
    Quoted from Gryszzz:

I wanna hear Slayer do some Iron Maiden.

They used to play "Phantom of the Opera", back in the 80s.

I could not find a video on youtube

    Quoted from hawkmoon:

This is a generational thing!! Death Metal music sounds the same to me as crappy rap! Im a 67 yr old Hippy!

    It's NOT a generational thing.

You don't like a certain genre of music, and you for some reason feel you need to tell others you don't like it.

NO ONE cares if you don't like Rap or Deathmetal, you can just keep it to yourself.

Can you guys imagine the faces of the giggling, douchebag audience (one that would actually sit through a Jimmy Fallon show), when Slayer took the stage?

They should have had a split screen with crowd reaction shots.

They probably had to chain the exits.

    Quoted from trilogybeer:

The girl on the chair next to Jimmy Fallon seemed excited to see Slayer.

You know an old broad like that was a Slayer groupie back in the 80s.

"I hope they don't recognize me in my clean clothes....."
