Could it really be? I thought it was a long shot, but Stern was seen attending and advertising at a Slayer concert a couple years back. Now I see a teaser from Zombie Yeti on his face book page of what appears to be a Devil holding up the devil horn sign. It also has the hashtag, #nulearblastusa, which is Slayer's current label. I thought Maiden was next, but this seems like a done deal to me.

    Ugh, I hope not.

    OMG please no

    Dear Stern,

    Beastie Boys.

    Signed,

Thousands of fans with deep pockets

Slayer would be a no brainer for me having been a fan since I was a teenager. If they did it right it would be amazing.

Talk about a niche market inside a niche market

    #8 6 years ago

I see the hashtag big shot toyworks there,, that is a toy sculpter for IP for entertainment, movies, etc....
Good sleuthing there FourEyed... seems logical to me..

    #9 6 years ago

I knew one Slayer song from my teenage years and I've forgotten what it is.

Between Slayer and Iron Maiden I could name exactly zero songs.

    #11 6 years ago

Sweet, then we can sit around for years arguing whether the game is racist or not.

    Quoted from DanQverymuch:

Maiden I can name 1/2 a song; "Run for the Hills."

Don't loose hope, maybe they will make a Barry Manilow pin next.

    #14 6 years ago

Feels too niche, but who else from the Nuclear Blast roster would it be?

Take it you haven't been to a Slayer show lately. Fucking $45 T-shirts...

    #16 6 years ago

Unless there is some major licensing barrier, Van Halen should be next.

    Quoted from nwpinball:

Speak for yourself. Though we did play a Manilow song at my wife's funeral.

I mean, come on, compared to Slayer and Maiden, Metallica was a hit making machine.

They already made Metallica and AC/DC, the only metal bands left with broad appeal are Judas Priest and Sabbath/Ozzy. I'd be down for those.

I have lost hope that losers will ever learn that loose=not tight. Rhymes with noose, you'd think that imagery would strike a chord with metalheads.

Hey, I'm sure Slayer kicks ass, but they would need to sell enough pins to make money...

    #18 6 years ago

Added a poll.....I think it will make for a killer pinball game if you like the music or not. I'm envisioning a super modern version of gorgar with metal music playing.

    You're REALLY missing out.

    #20 6 years ago

while not a big enough Slayer fan to buy one, I certainly would love to play one on route or league.

    #21 6 years ago

    Embryonic death,
    Embedded in your brain.
    Suffocation, strangulation,
    Death is fucking you insane!

Yes please Probably a joke tho. I'd prefer Iron Maiden.

    Agnostic Front maybe?

The satanism part would be cool, but given the political climate I think a pin based off of a band that uses Nazi imagery for fun would be skirting the borders of taste.

I'm sure I'll catch heat for this, but, being a christian this would not only be a pass for me, it would be a pass on all future Sterns indefinitely.

I don't get it - are you under the impression that Slayer is a satanic band?

    Yacht rock?

    #42 6 years ago

Oh wow, I haven't heard the phrase "yacht rock" in years - that's a term from the late 70s regarding music like Kenny Loggins, I think.

    #43 6 years ago

OK so a Yacht is a boat / recreational ship... which reminds me of the ORCA... THIS IS YETi another hint at JAWS !!! YESSSSS

HA! That's my fault, I actually meant to type "they just DON'T like..." which you can see makes more sense with my original post. My bad!

You'd never buy a Stern again because they did a pin for a band you don't like? That's hilarious.

You're going to be in every new game thread like a kid with their nose up against the bakery window, fogging the glass with your breath, looking at all the other children laughing and playing pinball. Every once in a while you'll sigh, then eventually shuffle away with your hand in your pockets, kicking at rocks, and muttering about stupid Slayer.

I would give Stern props for having more balls than I imagined if they actually do a Slayer pin. Believe it when it happens. Sounds awesome though.
