Is there anyway to protect the wear on the playfield where the balls leave the playfield and drain into the trough?

I put mylar on that spot before even playing a game on my new MET Pro. Less than 200 games into it, the clear is completely gone on some of that area and wearing into the playfield despite the mylar being there!

I guess as long as the damage doesn't spread to where it's seen, that's OK. For now it's limited to under the apron.

What do you guys think? Will it spread, or just be contained there?

Just did a search like you suggested and didn't see any trough protectors.

Quoted from BC_Gambit:

Honestly, this seems like a case of new pin-itits. I have had new car-itis in the past, it is a rough road to recovery. Every ding, every scrape hurts.

This is my 4th NIB from Stern in 4 years. I don't think it's too much to ask for a product that isn't damaged in less than 150 plays. The Whirlwind that sits next to it doesn't have that kind of damage. Sure, it's not going to be seen, but that doesn't make it 100% OK.

Thanks for finding this. Anyone have experience using it?

Hmmm, I just looked at the protector again and it wouldn't protect the area that's taking damage.
