New Stern ball trough issues

I've been having issues with the ball trough on my new Avatar. It looks like sometimes when a ball kicks out, the remainder aren't rolling down. This causes issues particularly when a ball gets locked in the Link lock, and it can't kick another one out. Any thoughts on a possible root cause, and how to fix it?

I'm suspecting a possible magnetized trough. It's a pretty low-play game, so I don't think it's a question of divots. But I'm not as familiar with Stern games as I am Bally/Williams. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I'd suspect magnetized balls first.

Paper clip test time

Any chance you could explain what that entails?

Cool cool! I should have spare balls here somewhere, if I can find them; I'll try replacing those to start with.

Put a small paper clip to your trough and balls and see if it sticks to them

Tried a pretty small one (like an inch long), and it didn't stick...

Any other thoughts as to why balls wouldn't roll down like they should? Do these troughs get divots like WPC ones?

If they did. You could see them.

Probably just need to remove and re-seat the trough connectors.
