I have a new MOD available today for all the Star Wars fans! Now you can swap out your original Death Star and update it with a custom made Death Star 2 from CRCades

This mod fits the Pro and Home Editions for both the movie and comic art releases.

This mod also uses all the original hardware, LED board and wire harness without altering anything. Simple to install with a Phillips and a flat head screwdriver, it’s basically plug and play. (See exploded view of parts)

NOTE:
We have 2 versions of this mod, one for the Home and Pro Edition and one for the Premium and Limited Edition. Be sure to pick the correct one when ordering.

Kinda cool! If I still had my SW pro I’d probably get one!

Selling
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
Please use these links below to place your orders through eBay’s platform using their safe and easy Global Shipping Program.
The costs for products includes eBay’s fees, shipping to US address, shipping overseas and any required VAT or customs import fees.
This isn’t cheap but solves the issues of doing the international orders “in-house” which is too complicated and involved.

Here you go! Take your pick, old Death Star or our NEW one!

My motivation behind making these for all models, Home Ed to LE, was because I thought the original Death Star was lacking. I don’t prefer a lot of toy figurines or trinket mods that don’t necessarily fit, what I do like is to make my machine pop and look attractive. IMHO, the manufacturers, designers and assembly line workers toss in mods that look pretty cheap and in many cases don’t look anything like what it should. For instance, I love GOTG but the orb looks horrible.

I enjoy building off of what the manufacturer puts in and making it better and more eye catching! I want it to grab your attention.

Hope you enjoy!

Just installed this and have some feedback.

1. Putting the circle of LEDs on the left hemisphere instead of the right meant cutting a lot of wire ties and rerouting the board to the left side. This added to a lot of extra unnecessary effort and I had to think carefully about how to route the wires.

2. There was not enough clearance for one of the LEDs that mount to the part on the right hemisphere, so I had to attach it differently with some strong tape. Otherwise, when the death Star closed, it would not close completely.

Looks good though when finished. Took me about 2 hours. Could easily cut down to 30 minutes if the first two points were addressed.

Just to clarify, the post and my reply both concern the Prem/LE Death Star installation although it is in Pro/Home topic which isn’t the same fitment details as the Prem/LE.

Glad you have it installed and I’m sure you are going to love it! It looks sweet in your machine! Great job!!

To cover your questions.

The LED boards in the right and left side are screwed into the hinge plate with a nut behind it and can be loosened/adjusted to be sure there is clearance, It’s all the same hardware so you shouldn’t have needed to remove it and tape it in for clearance. The fitment tests in several machines showed it as having 3.5mm clearance for the top corners of the LED and 3mm at the lock nut behind the hinge plate.

The installation video in the posts and product page show how best to remove 3 zip ties and relocate the wire harness properly. In the photo you show here the wires are just loose, hopefully you completed the relocation down under the left hinge and zip tied them as shown so that they don’t get bound up.

Sorry I posted on the wrong thread - you are right, this is for the premium SW.
I did end up tucking in the wires and routing them as necessary.
The top corners of that one led is where I had the problem. Not a huge deal, but just needed more clearance, so I had to relocate it. Otherwise, the right half of the death star wasn't closing cleanly with the left.

Great, glad you got it!! Again, looks awesome!
