    Ha,

Serious question though how long do you find rubbers last? How often do you refresh the playfield?

I can't put a number on it; they do last quite a while. Replace when you see things slowing down.

I've seen someone staple those 2 ends together.

Zip tie the ends together and rotate it 180 degrees so nobody will notice!

I actually did that once. It lasted about a week.

More to it, why does it look like he has a pinball machine on his back deck?

Make sure the ends have a ton of overlap before stapling so you get that just-like-brand-new tension back. It'll snap someplace else tomorrow but hey, got an extra day's worth out of the sucker.

... and tell people that they're those brand new "marbled" rubbers, very expensive

Just get a rubber-band. One thick or many thin. Your choice. Eventually, we will see you in the Worst Hack thread.

Aren't you sharp! Actually back porch.

I was thinking of switching to very long twist ties instead of rubber rings. When it starts to get loose, just give it another crank! XD
