    some Titans for JJP POTC!

Did you take it apart yet? I’m curious what it came with. There should be some titans on it from the factory...

    #2502 68 days ago

I did not know this! I wonder what titans they used and where? I know the slings and posts are all clear, but was not sure of manufacturer. The flippers look like standard rubbers. I thought the titans were more of a shiny silicon?
I know my star trek already had the titans on it when I got it.

    #2503 68 days ago

JJP only bought 3/8" OD (mini post), 1-1/2" ID and 2-1/2" ID clear silicone from Titan for the pirates build. The rest of the rubber on the game is someone else's and possibly a mix of more than 2 brands. I did hear that they used regular flipper rubber, most likely Happ-Suzo. I'm sure the 2-1/2" are the slings and the 3/8" OD are in the rocking ship and probably other areas... Not sure where the 1-1/2" goes.

    #2504 68 days ago

On the JJP Pirates. Flipper rubber has already been replaced with Titan blue on mine. Created two kits, one stock with red flippers and one with blue flippers. Love the blue on mine. Stayed with black on the Black Pearl and clear everywhere else for now.

I posted that info on the POTC thread so others know! Great info! I got the red flippers for the PF and the black for the BP. I love Titan rings great product!

Titan silicone on 1976 Fireball home edition. Game took a few days to repair, clean, polish, and LED. Still have to put on new pop bumper skirt.

What ever happened with that Pinsider who thought his yellow Titans faded to white?

    Quoted from Coyote:

Sorry guys; I thought I posted here.
I never heard back from the ex. (No surprise.) I cut one open, and it's white inside as well. So, either I just had ordered the wrong type back in '16, or, someone at York show decided to play a trick on me. The shooter rubber was still colorized (it didn't fade), but was also ordered at a different time.
So, no alarm, no issues; everything's peachy!

    double post

    #2511 62 days ago

Has anybody ever considered making or made a flipper rubber with vertical registration lines? Not even sure it is possible, but if say you had alternating color sections you’d be able to control shot timing/angle better. Think pool table geometry...
Maybe some shapes molded into the top edge?

    #2512 62 days ago

Flipper power, pin level and pitch at the very least would make that unreliable I think.

    Quoted from Pinbutt2000:

Not sure you could control angle, but it might help with honing instincts. It would have to be a contrasting color, though, so grab a ruler and a Sharpie and see if a few marks on the top edge improves your game...

Anyone care to comment on the new Stern tapered post sleeves ?

Does it make a difference ?

Is it worthwhile for Titan or someone else to make these ?

With the flipper power of new games being higher

I don't get why these tapered rubbers are so hard ?

    Is there a patent ?

    #2515 61 days ago

Anyone have a pic? I haven't even seen one.

    Quoted from Durzel:

Missing my point I think. It would be an indicator of the time to shoot the ball on that machine. Example, most players know where on their flipper to hit the most common ramp shot. But it gets a bit tricky on some outlane shots or really tight needle thread shots.
It’s not like it would be a gauge set up for say all STTNG pins or other. Just a set of marks to gauge shot timing.

The marker idea is not a bad one actually.

    #2517 60 days ago

I too am curious about these tapered sleeves....pics?

Apologies if this has been talked about. But what product does the manufacturer suggest to clean these bands?

I use Novus 1 on mine and they come out great. MUCH easier to clean these vs. traditional rubber rings.

    #2521 52 days ago

I use Simple Green, but maybe theres something better out there. However, they come out pretty clean.

Agreed...I do the same. Much easier and no nasty smell like Wildcat rubber cleaner

    #2523 51 days ago

Even your finger works just fine.

    #2524 51 days ago

I use isopropyl alcohol to clean the rings. I have been known to use Honda cleaner polish as well. They sell it at the Honda cycle shops...

I use this stuff from Pinball Life. It smells nice too ...

Does anyone know if Titan will be doing a new years sale? A friend is going to the USA for work and it is much cheaper and easier to get a bulk load for us both, but hoping there may be a new years sale (we do that in the UK as opposed to Black Friday etc.) not sure if it happens in the USA too?!?

    #2527 50 days ago

They had a Black Friday sale recently

Another sale? Count my TZ in!

    #2529 50 days ago

Ordered some for my JJP POTC. Backups plus I want to replace stock flippers. Now if only usps would find my order soon lol.

I used code TITAN10 for the 10% off listed in the OP... I imagine you might could swing a bulk deal if it’s really bulky.

So none of the above are known to damage the silicone bands? I generally use Novus, Plexis, and Or Mills Wax.

Thanks for the suggestion - I don't know what you class as bulky, but it'll probably hit $200 - $250. Which for me, is a lot to spend on rubber.

    Quoted from Pinbutt2000:

I probably would not use anything abrasive like Novus. It could abrade the skin off the silicone. It would probably take years though.

    #2534 48 days ago

I use an anti static foaming cleaner on everything and it works brilliantly. Not abrasive at all but it gets dirt off rubbers and everything else with no problems.

    This is the stuff:
Genuine Amberclens Anti Static Foaming Cleaner 400ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003FTR0IS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M49kCbMNPNV0X

Apologies for the UK Amazon link, I imagine it must be available over the pond.
