Wow, i'm trying to keep up but all I see is a bunch chatting. Where is the new information? Pictures? Is there a web site? WHAT IS GOING ON! LOL
Pappy
Quoted from Whysnow:I am guessing/hoping that Predator owners will be the first to actually know the 2nd game when that time comes and we will then be able to reserve a slot at that time if we decide we want to???
For now I am more concerned with game #1 and assume that the Skit-B guys are also.
I am so pumped to be for this ride!
I believe Kevin had confirmed these items you ask about for game 2.

Chatting? >>Well... this is a forum for pinball... did you expect something else besides chatting about Predator in this thread?
New info? >>New information is even on this page of the thread. Just look up a little bit and you will see a handful of new replies from Kevin/SkitB. That is the official word on everything Predator
website? I know this is really hard so let me help you out >>> http://lmgtfy.com/?q=skitB+pinball
What is going on? >>>Besides you trolling, I am not sure. Do you have a specific question about the game? Do you have something to contribute to the conversation? Ask you question in this thread as the SkitB guys seem to be doing a great job of responding to worthwhile questions when they have time. They have also said a new video will be coming to show some updates. If you have something specific you want to see then ask and maybe they will incorporate it into the video.
I'm not sure when Pinside would do it, but at some point skit-b does need their own forum here. All "news" can be posted in new threads for easy tracking, and the chatter wouldn't hide it all.
Robin did bring it up once in the past (possibility of a new forum). I don't know what we'd need to do to make it happen. Considering that most of Skit-b's customer are here and it for all intents and purposes their official forum, that thought should be mulled over.

I agree. With over 2100 posts in this thread alone, a sub forum should be in the future.

You may want to cut Pappy some slack. He's far from a troll and has been a staple on RGP for years. The guy is a walking library when it comes to pinball and he has a pretty good sense of humor.
Thanks for the heads up Mike.
Sorry Pappy. Sometimes humor and those sorts of things are not clear when in text on the interwebs. I assumed trolling since there was new information posted by the SkitB guys at the top of the page from your post. please excuse my smartass reply.
I'm an occasional chatter on this tread and even I think it's out of hand. Combine this with the last and I believe there's more than 3500 posts. It would sure be nice to have a folder or whatever for SkitB's stuff so that they could post updates to their own thread that no one else (like me) could sully.
Pretty sure Skit's gonna wait until they have their full lighting setup before next vid.
And I haven't seen any art updates on James' facebook page since last week.

No problem. I can get a little smartass too sometimes. I was just trying to get a grip on whats going on with this project without having to wade through 43 thread pages. From what I see so far it looks pretty promising.
As far as the chatting comment, I wasn't complaining about the chatting just the fact that I couldn't get to the real meat of this project. Talk all you want I don't care, I just wanted someone to tell me where I can find out about this project.

The below linked website is the official spot for all things Predator. Any big updates can be found there. There have been some art images and 1 of the toys shared in this thread but not much else.
You can also just look at Posts from pinside member SkitBPinball as this is the guys in charge. There is no real easy way to search for specific posts in a thread unfortunately.
I agree with others that it would be nice to have an official Thread that only houses the SkitB pinball updates.
Just checking here. Has anyone recieved a receipt of deposit? I got the one from paypal but wasn't sure if Skit B sent one out? Thought there was gonna be an email as well? Im sure its posted 20 pages back but I can't muddle through all thoose posts. Thanks for your help,

Kevin, If it's not too much trouble, could you take a pic of the prototype with the clear ramps attached. I don't know if it's because of the lighting or the angle of the video and the black ramps in the latter video, but I can not get a feel for what the game will look like.
Something like this pic with ramps and side targets attached. Also how does the hole on the right side work, is it similar to the arcade hole on Tron? I just noticed a second hole further up on the right side on the inner loop is that on the playing game as well?

The hole mid-field on the right is an eject only for the scoop below it. Not sure what that one is called, but on the white board above (which I believe is a couple of iterations old now) the inserts for that shot are light green, yellow, big red arrow. The upper right cut out is the "Jungle Hole" and I think it is the main mode start. It's a vertical kicker.
EDIT: I think.
It'll be interesting to see if there will be a way to get some mirror blades in there with the side lighting. I think that might make the jungle scene on the game look expansive.

We were going to, but we decided to do a quick one before the big revamp the game is going through in the next few days.
Quoted from ChadNC:Has anyone recieved a receipt of deposit?
Many have so far, but not all just yet. We're still getting deposits even today, and we are trying to do them in batches.

We shot a quick video today (nothing fancy, just a quick overview of the game as it stands) to address these little things. I'll be uploading it in just a few minutes and of course I'll drop a link up here when it's done and ready to be viewed.

Could you shoot the video with hidden features such as the Yellow Skating Dress on eBay?
Kim
Quoted from Mr68:Could you shoot the video with hidden features such as the Yellow Skating Dress on eBay?
Kim, I told you that in confidence...
AWESOME!!! I've been hungry.
Side note, Arnold did an AMA on reddit. I tried to ask him about the pin. No response.
Now if it had been CW...
Funny thing about this movie and it seems Arnold movies in general. It seems to have sunk into the consciousness of America. I was in Disney world and overheard a young kid who was around 15 years old say in the classic Arnold accent "Get to the Choppa"
Predator was out before this kid was alive much like Casablanca or The Godfather was out before my time but there are classic quotes that will be known forever.
I'm not trying to say Predator is a classic movie like those other but thst some quotes have almost become classic to a greater extent than I would have guessed possible.

That's ok. You can say it.
So, those ramps. They're longer than they will be. Are they also wider? Currently the ball sort of wanders around as it travels the path and looks, I don't know, I don't want to say "sloppy" but, inelegant maybe? Are they going to narrow up to give more of a snappy ride?
I'm guessing the mystery award will have some animation to go with it?
Finally, good work! Looks absolutely bad ass. Love the UV lamps right now, especially that extended look at it. Just when you're getting used to how it looks, WHAM, full color again. Way fucking cool.
Kevin, great video! Lots of good stuff.
One question, will there be something to indicate how many hunts you have left at a given time?
Yeah! No more comic sans! Still not a huge fan of the font, but a huge improvement from a designer's perspective. Love the lighting changes!
Quoted from navajas:So, those ramps. They're longer than they will be. Are they also wider?
Yep. When prototyping, it's always better to go err on the side of too big rather than too small. We've got a good idea of how they work now, so the next ones will be not only tighter, but the turns and shifts will be smoothed out, as well. Should be a pretty elegant ride.
Quoted from navajas:I'm guessing the mystery award will have some animation to go with it?
Yep again. Predator dialing in a command on his gauntlet is still going to be used for the general mystery award animation, but of course it will be "prettied up" before we're done.
Quoted from flashburn:will there be something to indicate how many hunts you have left at a given time?
In short, yes. We're working on coming up with something a little different for that, as well as ways to indicate how many party members you've eliminated towards Killing Spree.
Also, I really like the VUK setup, but is there any worries about the ramp cracking where the ball drops down from it?
