Thought more details were going to be released before deposit required?

#1152 10 years ago
Quoted from Tweedlefuzz:

I will be picking mine up in person for sure.
Are you worried about going over the boarder w/ it? Im in Windsor doing some work now and i know how much of a hassle it can be to move equipment over.

Worried? Not really... aside from the 13% a$$-raping us Ontario resident have to pay at the border

If I provide a bill of sale, all should be good.
Hey Kevin, this thing's gonna cost me $500 right?
What's a little decimal place?

Quoted from Cobra:

I want to drive down and pick it up too...

I'll have to see what my schedule is like once the game is ready, but if any Toronto or Southern Ontario guys are in the early production run and want to team up, I'm cool with that.
I'll have to rent/borrow a truck or van anyway. This thing likely won't fit in my Volvo.

I just wanna be there when it comes off the line and maybe even break it in with Kevin and Aaron!
Don't box it up just yet

Windsor. Where 19 year old Michiganders go to drink

Did you have to remind me this early...gah. The only thing worse is paying the same 13% on a 30+ year old video game.

Only 5% in Alberta, send them all to me,truck them home from here

You suck

If you load up the truck with empty pop cans and bottles, we may just make it work.
I'll have to crunch the numbers.

You're going to need a free truck to make that work.

#1158 10 years ago
Quoted from Nibbles:

when we are supposed to send the 5%, I'm guessing it's now but is the CC payment setup?

I sent mine via snail mail check.

#1159 10 years ago

Haven't sent payment in yet. Waiting CC option. Is anyone from the Cleveland, OH area in on this that wants to make the trip to pick up?

#1160 10 years ago

The odds of me dropping out are nearly zero, but as enthusiastic as I am I would still feel better knowing some things before getting 'locked in' financially:

1. Is the price still set at $4750? What if it goes up to, say $5500? $6000? Would someone will have to take my spot if I want my $ back.

2. What is the expected time for production to start? Even if it's an estimate it's something.

3. How are games being manufactured and at what rate are they expected to be produced?

4. What is the deadline for a deposit to be made?

5. When can we see the gameplay video?

Sorry to be critical, but some of these things haven't been brought up in a very long time.

-Brian

#1161 10 years ago

I think those are valid questions.

I too was curious about production rate. Hom many machines do you think they'll be able to assemble per week?? We can speculate in the meantime.

#1162 10 years ago

^^that for sure

#1163 10 years ago

I would expect that any change in price would result in the option to back out.
I would also expect the boys to ramp up for production with a few extra bodies. Even if they could get out 5 games a week, that's a year of production!!!

Gameplay vid would be nice. I'm sure the guys know how critically something like this will be scrutinized so they wanna do it right.

#1164 10 years ago
Quoted from Nibbles:

I got all the original emails, but wanted to see when we are supposed to send the 5%, I'm guessing it's now but is the CC payment setup? If not, I can just go old school and send a check - what's everyone else doing?
Also, if we can save on group shipping to MN, I'm down!

I sent out a certified check today, considering the cost of processing credit cards it keeps more on the table for them to put into the games. I do know Kevin said they are getting cc stuff set up as Paypal just takes to big of a cut.

#1165 10 years ago

I just sent out a check as this has no added fees for them or me. Old school is the best school in this case. Also sent 'em a love note. Could be a Bromance-a-brewing here...

Check sent. Northwest Arkansas Pinball, LLC is sure racking up the expenses for a startup .

#19

#1168 10 years ago

I'd do a check as well, if I wasn't in Canada
Pretty much CC or PayPal for me. I wouldnt mind covering the PP fees on this small deposit.
I guess a wire transfer wouldn't be so bad either. Can't remember if that was a option?

#1169 10 years ago
Quoted from Betelgeuse:

Is the price still set at $4750?

That's still the projection, yes.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

What if it goes up to, say $5500?

I don't think it would ever get that high. I would be upset if it reached $5250, and I know you guys would be, too.

It won't.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

What is the expected time for production to start? Even if it's an estimate it's something.

Realistically, we're looking at late January before it really takes off.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

How are games being manufactured and at what rate are they expected to be produced?

Games will be manufactured by hand by a production team. Many of the processes are "farmed out" to professionals when it comes to things we simply can't do well enough to trust ourselves with, like building the cabinet, adding decals to the cabinet properly, printing the playfield, etc. At full swing, we're shooting to do around 40 machines per month. Of course this will be much slower, at first.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

What is the deadline for a deposit to be made?

Deadline sounds a bit impersonal, but I can see the need for a solid date. The date we've been tossing around is December 14th. If anyone is having any issues with the deposit, I would just urge them to get ahold of me to discuss it.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

When can we see the gameplay video?

Within a few days. I've got a lot of energy tonight, maybe tomorrow? Don't hold me to that

Quoted from underlord:

Also sent 'em a love note. Could be a Bromance-a-brewing here...

Giggity.

Quoted from Drano:

If you load up the truck with empty pop cans and bottles...

I often forget that the majority of the world doesn't share this lovely source of late-week income.

This is moving along. Have to pass a bunch of credit and security checks to get this set up, and it's hard to explain to a bank how you've been a company for over two years and never made a cent. At any rate, we'll know pretty soon.

#1170 10 years ago

The banks will surely be happy with the deposits though
Once you are set up,I'm in.

#1172 10 years ago

Getting the meat of the new video update shot tonight. After a time allowance for editing and hijinks you can expect to see the video sometime this weekend.

#1173 10 years ago

Can we pay the 5% deposit via paypal?

#1174 10 years ago

Kevin and crew, I can't come up with $2250 by Dec 14th. I did send you the $250 check. Between holiday spending and property taxes, along with car insurance and mortgage, tough month for bills!
Hope I am just being dense on 50% figure, you just meant the $250, right?

Lots of smaller bites are more manageable.

Was hedging against a slightly longer timeline between payments...

Hi, If you did sent the deposit you've done for the 14th Dec.
The given timeline was for the deposit, not for 1st half because as Kevis said, realistically they can't start earlier than Jan with the first games. If you will have production # 1 or 2 that might be the time for paying half the amount .... but from my point of view and what I heared so far I guess the first games will be assembled not earlier than Mid or End of Q1 2013. Didn't saw neither finalized Playfield with artwork nor Cabinet / Backglass with artwork.
To be frank: I can imagine it's a lot of work they have to do and I'm happy to wait even longer.
I assume not more that 20 games can be assembled within a month (pure assumption from my side) ..... So stay cool even if you got production run # 1 or 2
Currently I'm waiting for CC or paypal. As soon they have been set up I wil pay my deposit. -> Sent out my email with confirmation on shipping adress and plate engravement.

Hi Kevin,

Thinking ahead a bit (or maybe a lot). When you go into production are you planning to manufacture and sell additional plastic sets which we could buy at the same time? Inevitably, sooner or later something is going to break and I'd really like to have a back up set rather than trying to source something in 5 years time.

Cheers

it's probably time for a playfield plastics/toy teaser photo

Short answer: yes. More on this coming in a few days.

Yeah, I think it is, too... I'll get with Matt after the holiday and see if he's willing to share some stuff

Quoted from SkitBPinball:

I would be upset if it reached $5250, and I know you guys would be, too.

I always expected the game to finish up around the $5,500 mark. If ya'll keep it at or below 5k that would be an amazing achievment.

#1186 10 years ago

They will be passing a ton of sweat equity on to us which is to be commended. As we all know some pinball companies cut corners AND increase the price for the end user. Rock on Skit-B.

Alright, long shot. Who's got #31? I'm looking to trade # if at all possible. ( Wifes favorite number). I know, I know, but I told her I'd ask. Thanks fellas!

#1188 10 years ago

^eh, just put a piece of tape over it with the number you want when it arrives

I wanted #5 just because of my last name, but JonM took it, so I settled on #50 - don't really see the plate number adding any value whatsoever since they're being built in order of signing up (I guess the #1 will be a nice find though, but guessing that one will be handed down from generation to generation

It might help if you mention your number being offered. By the way is there an overall list somewhere?

Just sent the emails out again. The address you're giving me seems to match the one I have on file here, but I copied/pasted the address straight out of your PM to be sure. Let me know if/when you get them. I would have just replied to your message, but it says your messaging is disabled.
