It's a big deal to me, too. I would be pretty pissed if I paid like 12 large for a Big Bang Bar and found out that they are all of a sudden going to hit the open market again or something. I can already see some weird behavior from Medieval Madness owners, as well. In short, no more than 250. Ever.

Me too. The moment I see one of them with a copy of The Catcher in the Rye, I'm heading for the hills.

I just hope I squeak in from the wait list to the buy list...

I can't wait to get Predator. This game is gonna kick ass. I'm not sure if this has been asked but are any of the plastics gonna have uv art to them? Also is there a chance after the game is released that you'll add to code? Not that there isn't plenty to do right now but maybe an idea after release pops up, would you send out and update?

A i soon commin on that lisssst Kevinnnnn

Kevin, have you considered the pros and cons of having the bodies activated via a popper mechanism or swing arm mech? As opposed to contacting with the ball path?

Not sure if this is a hypothetical or imaginary concern, but as you noted, some weird things occur in pinball that might occur once in a blue moon and are not a problem, but then on the other hand if something could potentially happen it can happen more than you think.

What I was thinking was having interference effect or reject a ramp shot or having the swinging body get hung up on the ramp causing us to have to open the machine to clear it.

Additionally a swing arm mech could add more visual pop to the bodies, as they are not in view all the time, but swing out during certain modes.

As a side note, the claw mech is really neat, I mean it's hidden but then it snaps out. I know the bodies are more bulky but if they could be obscured under foliage plastic and swing out during the game it would be a neat trick.

One thing I have always lamented was the lack of toys, by this I don't mean decoration like the skull or UV paint, but moving objects like Mick on a stick or swinging bell from AcDc as an example.

#6310 10 years ago

As far as the swinging body concerns go... How about using a magnet inside the body? With the proper magnet strength, you may be able to get the body to swing slightly from a ball passing under it, without the body actually contacting the ball or interfering with it. Just a thought.

At minimum, program the code for a coil and I will mod my game to add the swinging body on a RFM type mech

Amazing integrity. Wonder if we can get Ben Heck on record too.

Wish I would asked Jack this.

I think it's a bit late now for any major or semi-major changes....

Ben Heck on record for what?? Spooky Pinball / Americas Most Haunted is unlimited and he's not involved with Zombie Adventureland anymore

he's not, its still on the website.

I don't think a single coil with a body on a stick is really major, is it?

Hey...I'll take whatever I can get. If they can do it, I'm all for it.

#6320 10 years ago

Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark!

#6321 10 years ago

funny...

I think Bohener has been saying this for a while...

Can we keep politics off pinside now???

#6322 10 years ago

I can feel the excitement and anticipation building, and I don't think it's just me. This game is going to be bad ass.

I scooped you on this idea a few pages back and I still think it's the best way to go. I think the frantically buzzing around AFM alien effect would look dumb as hell on this machine. We're after a gentle, grotesque sway like in the movie right? That's a job for neodymium. Zero points of failure, and all it requires is a recess in the body and some epoxy.

Nothing much. Just went different directions with different games from what I understand.

Ok, unless Skit-B is now making Rocky Horror (believe me, I wish they would)... stop teasing me!

I agree that a bouncing dead guy a 'la the AFM/RFM martians would be annoying. I turned my RFM ones off because they are loud and distracting, and I can't see the need for skinned dead swinging guy (I'm going to call mine Joe) to bounce around like that.

#6329 10 years ago

Can't wait for mine. I was on the waiting list for 7 months before Kevin let me know one became available. I can only assume someone bolted due to MMRLE.There's always hope. #90

When did you first get on the waiting list?

It will only need one quick coil pulse when the ball hits the switch near it. It does not need to be programmed to bounce up and down like an invading alien. Heck even a small diverter coil with a mech on the right sping will give the perfect action. One pulse and the bodies sway in the trees.

Only the overall idea is like RFM/AFM. Implementation woudl be very different.

#6332 10 years ago

Me too. I got on the wait list around March and made it onto the production list in September. Good luck to all who are on still on the wait list!

#6333 10 years ago

I just read Kevin's update about the different multi-balls again and it sounds pretty sweet. Love the idea of no cradling for unload and killing spree where you achieve bigger points for taking out the characters in the same order they died off in the movie. Right on.

Oh wait, wrong movie again. (Note to self: make a Fight Club pin someday.)

Fine, I will call him Jim. I need to rewatch the movie yet again before my pin comes. I watched the new version and it was pretty good. I would rather stab myself in the thigh than watch Predator 2 again.

And him jiggling with one pulse hit would work, kinda like Green Goblin I guess. Let's just not make Jim wiggle on a stick like he's being electrocuted.

THIS is Rob Paulsen. There are NO others.

Damn, I stay off the random check site for a couple days and for the first time come back to 80 posts...and it's actually great stuff!

Dude! Thanks for all the clarification. I have to be honest, I thought it'd be another couple of weeks before we heard from you guys again. I've been pumped for a long time now and it's still there.

I figure since you've been pretty active lately Kevin, I'd ASK a couple QUESTIONS.

1. I'm just curious how you think hitting the body will affect the ability to ride smooth up the ramp.**

Pre-question bitch. Ever since you came back with the new vid, I've seen the requests start piling up again for little hardware and art changes when I think a lot of us know that the layout is final. BUT, you did lay down the question of the inserts. So.......

2. What did you guys think of these guy's idea of making the main mode inserts a red text on black inserts? I thought it was a pretty sweet idea and was just curious of your take on it. If it's a no-go, no f**ks given, but I was just curious what you guys think about it.

And about the old videos....man I watched those things a million times and like an idiot never saved them. Especially the 20 minute Thanksgiving update of the two full games from last year. (Time flies doesn't it?) In my opinion*, nothing wrong with posting those again as it was just a thing for me(us) to look at to get pumped up about what to expect. I realize they were old videos that don't necessarily reflect the final product, and I think most of us here do. I have seen plenty of new faces/names in this thread, but a simple disclaimer would be enough, I think. If the vid pull down and the website redesign was to reflect a more professional image because you guys have a lot of bigger and better things on your horizon, I understand it. But at least give me a secret download link or something!

Anyways, I'm really glad that you guys are so close to getting to that final step and I have to tell you that I have huge respect for you guys chasing your dream. All the bullshit of the past aside, I still have faith in your pin and as I'm sure you guys have probably started to hate it for the past couple of months, I think it's pretty awesome regardless. You guys are not Stern, Jersey Jack, Williams, DE or any of the new guys. You're your own f**kin company and I wish you awesome things in the future.

And thanks for bullshittin on the forums with us.

*See Websters dictionary for definition of "opinion."

*Edit: An email I sent long ago talked about why Mac shouted "Sergeant" when Blaine got killed. I always wondered this growing up. I finally realized that he's yelling out "Contact!"

**Edit2: I have to admit I only read your comments first. I see now that this has been asked quite a bit, so sorry to be redundant.

SOT: I just bought Predator on Blu-Ray. From some interweb research there are apparently two blu ray versions of the film itself (i.e. ignoring the extras): the original 2008 version (with no extras) and the Ultimate Hunter Edition version.

Apparently the UHE version has had so much noise reduction applied a lot of people complain they overdid it and the characters look like wax figures. Supposedly they added a bunch of contrast to it as well. It probably has more initial pop but doesn't look so good under scrutiny.

The UHE version is also in the trilogy pack. The original version is also in the Predator 1/2 pack.

I prefer film grain if the original film had it, so I went with the Predator 1/2 pack. Guess I'll get to see P2 again. hahahaha

i would buy one!!!!

Nothing to do with MM, I had my reasons and hoping to get in on game #2 and #3 (Goonies and Fifth Element). My refund came as promised and I have nothing but good things to say about my dealings with SKIT-B.

Just planting the seed, nothing concrete here.

#6343 10 years ago

I think they should do Ghost-busters. The new slot machine theme'd after Ghostbusters does awesome business on the floor of casinos. It is raking in the cash for IGT right now.

Unsure about this, as America's most haunted's theme is bit similar...without the licence.

But the license is so awesome! Put head to head a licensed ghostbusters game would be preferable to an unlicensed one.

#6349 10 years ago

Kevin, any news on the Predator front?

#6350 10 years ago

Yeah the silence has been deafening.... hope that means another BIG update is coming.
