Due to the immense size of the previous thread that was started earlier this year, I'm going to attempt to condense all the relevant info into a more concise post.

First off, there was a brand new video posted to the website (www.skitbpinball.com) tonight that shows off some of the fancier features of how the game works both in the gameplay and behind the scenes. I hope you guys enjoy it, just keep in mind that it is a bit lengthy (closing in on 20 minutes, total) and there are some quotes in the sound clips that are slightly NSFW that can be heard in the video.

Game information: 100% custom game based on the P-ROC hardware available at www.pinballcontrollers.com. Game is officially licensed to carry the Predator brand and has a giant list of sound and voice clips cut from the movie itself. There is a vulgarity switch in the settings menu to turn off all swearing, if you have a family-friendly game room and aim to keep it that way.

Industry information: There will be no more than 250 machines produced, to which all pre-orders have been filled. We will keep a running waiting list for those interesting in the case of someone backing out of their order for whatever reason. Marco Specialties has signed on to provide all the parts for the game, Matt Reisterer from BackAlleyCreations will be making the playfield toys, and CoinTaker Amusements will be providing all the lighting for the machine. Pinball Inc. will be custom producing the ramps for the machine, and it will come stock with an all new sound system provided by Flipper Fidelity.

We are bringing the game to the Chicago Pinball Expo this month, as well, so if you're in the area or on the fence about going, just come see us and have a blast at one of the best pinball shows in the country.

Production information: We expect the start producing our first handful of machines within the next month or two, meaning we SHOULD have a few people out there with Predators under their (gigantic) Christmas trees. Price range still hasn't moved from the projected $5000 range, either, and I will certainly let everyone know immediately if that has to change for some reason.

If there is any info you feel should be added to this initial post, either PM me or just sound off below.

Sounds great. Do you have a projected time table? 6-12 months till production? Not rushing you, just letting me know as far as putting pennies in the jar!

The video really shows the difference between code written to make money on location and specifically for the home use. Different things happening after 250 games etc etc.......can't think of another ruleset similar?

#26 10 years ago

Very impressed with what you guys have done so far. Maybe it's time for a Skit-B subforum on the Pinside to discuss the game and host a way for (potential) customers to give feedback and spar ideas with you guys?

Also wondering, is there a Skit-B distributor in Europe?

#27 10 years ago

awesome work guys, love the features that have programmed in, congrats guys

#28 10 years ago

looking so cool!

on the comic sans part, does anybody understand what he says?
they are aware of it, but are they gonna change that crap?

Yes let's do this. Not sure how many machines a month they'll be producing, but there will probably be new Predators rolling out for the better part of the year. They have a real machine in customer's hands (soon), they deserve their own forum.

#30 10 years ago

Keep rocking guys thanks for update!!

#31 10 years ago

Thanks for the update.

I couldn't help but notice while you played I didn't see the Dutch, or Blain characters. I'm hoping there isn't a license issue with them?

#32 10 years ago

Love that Benny Hill music at the end.

Looks like we are going to have basically the same collection. (The Twin Win and TAF listed on mine are at my parents' house.) I'm already decorated for JP, now just going to add some big palm-like plants around the two.

Super excited!

How do i get in on a pre-order? Who do i need to pester to get one of these?

PM? Email? Telegraph? How does this work?

#36 10 years ago

Email Kevin and he will get back to you. Be patient though as he does get a lot of emails.

#37 10 years ago

Just one question when will we be able to see the playfield art Kevin? I'm still waiting in excited anticipation for that reveal, specially with the UV artwork

#38 10 years ago

Any pic/progress of the predator head that was talked about going on the end of one ramp so it looks like ball comes out the mouth? Cool stuff

#39 10 years ago

1:39 to 2:09 is basically how I feel right now.

Emailed Kevin. Thanks

Never realized this was a MI based company.

I second the motion!
I may have my PREDATOR before anyone gets their WOZ

#42 10 years ago

Can't wait for my lunch break to watch this!

#43 10 years ago

What does it say on the DMD after Skit-B and before Predator towards the end of the video. It's a little hard to see.

Quoted from Drano:

I realize they are 2 totally different projects in size and scope, but something about that would be hilarious.

I disagree. It's a lot hard to see.

Did the background music during the bloopers bring back any memories for anyone else?

As a kid I use to watch a show featuring Lorenzo the Clown. He was a hobo. The actor would start the show putting on his make up, so children watching could understand that Lorenzo was a charachter. When he would dance, the music was "the Lorenzo Stomp," what was playing on the video during the bloopers.

Man, that is an old, old memory. Thanks Skit-B.

Dutch / Arnold is already in a couple of the clips and they mention Blaine by name so I'm thinking/hoping it's probably not an issue.

After the Killing Spree animation is shown, I say that that is the new direction the animations will be taking, and for everyone who has ever called us out for using Comic Sans, yes, it was just a development phase, and we're getting past it. So, in short, yes, we are definitely going to change that crap.

Quoted from robin:

Also wondering, is there a Skit-B distributor in Europe?

Yes, but I can't think of the guy's name at the moment. I'll add it to the initial post in a bit.

Quoted from frolic:

There was a Blain animation, maybe it was obscured in the video. There is no Dutch animation (or Anna, for that matter), but it is not because of license issues. Think about it a little bit

Quoted from J85M:

Just one question when will we be able to see the playfield art Kevin? I'm still waiting in excited anticipation for that reveal, specially with the UV artwork

This is definitely our number one question. We have brought on another Artist to help move this along as quickly as possible without losing quality. As soon as we have something to show, we will definitely be showing it.

Quoted from playboywillis:

Yes, it's a lot hard to see. It's the old test animation for the CoinTaker lighting logo, which will be changed this week anyways.

Hey, it occurs to me with you folks being in MI that if you wanted to tap a population right in your intended demographic with an absolute shitload of disposable income, and if you could overcome any hard feelings / team allegiances, you might want to hit up Clay Matthews with an email about the machine. I'd be amazed if he wouldn't want one, and word of cool toys spreads real f'ing fast through NFL players. I know you're close to sold out, but if you're planning machine #2 and it's similarly badassed in theme, you could do a lot worse for word of mouth than NFL locker rooms.

Just don't forget us, much, littler guys!
