Amazing; thank you for the video!

Did they take it down? Was it negative? Stern strong-arming the press, or random glitch?
I know, most likely removed for some minor updates, but looking forward to seeing this!
Thank you for the GotG review, I enjoyed it. I won't get to play the pin for another few weeks at the earliest, but looking forward to it!
Jason
Looking forward to part II of the review, and also caught up with most of your Houdini vids... very nice machines being launched now.
Has there been any "inside the cab" vids for Houdini? It may have been in your unboxing video or otherwise on the net... but I was wondering what sort of system is inside. Node board funkyness? Impossible to replace almost everything?
Or do they actually have fuses and mostly repairable components ?
Quoted from musketd:How can you rate such a game like POTC which shoots very slow and boring compared to Iron Maiden and not only that has nothing to do with the movies either and yes I’m talking about pirates where they can’t use any clips with actors or any call outs from the movie either. Iron Maiden crushes POTC on all levels; I just don’t get your review ohh well especially the animations on maiden which are great as well just my two cents
Gosh darn it man; is your period key busticated?
Quoted from Ericc123:Most people can decide that on their own without SDTM telling them what to do.
You obviously have not seen all the "what game should I buy next" threads from people who apparently can't make up their own mind on.... what game they should buy next
Quoted from Who-Dey:Sorry but you arent going to find too many complete coded games 14 months after they come out.
Wow, I think you are right about this point but this is just sad. Stern has conditioned the masses to NOT expect complete code for their games more than a year after release.
Well played Stern!
Quoted from jgentry:But I think it's hard to argue that the pro plays better on this one.
Based on your collection and suggested by your post, did you meant the LE/Prem plays better?
But as you note the pro is the better value...
Quoted from delt31:I wonder how or if this will impact the show -especially the reviews (considering negative reviews on new games certainly doesn't assist in moving product nor do they help with manufacturer relationships). I always appreciated the straight forward nature of the show. Hopefully that continues.
This is my concern re: the show; lets be real it WILL change now that you are selling these games AND having to buy games from the manufacturers as a business. I don't think you will intend to change your style, but that just seems like the realistic end of the road.
Congrats on the new venture! And I have enjoyed the "free to me" pinball entertainment you guys have produced to date. Even if your style changes a little and I have to start adding a grain of salt here and there, the world will not end
Great episode!
I feel similarly... its a great game, but in a lineup of say 10 other games even on location it is not one I play every chance I get...I am still glad this game is out there making people smile after more than a quarter of a century! That is nuts.
FEEL THE POWER OF THE WIND!
Amazing job; I'd take that for 10K over a GI any day, but I am too cheap to buy either honestly

Quoted from ronaldvg:Zach has got the Limited Edition brain ?? Wouldn't want a limited brain
But its exclusive!
In the "life" debate here I am more team Zach; as Conan would say "Time enough for sleep in the grave" .
That being said it is super easy to for me to get into a task focused groove. I do try to take an hour or two a day to actually you know settle down and have fun. But even that is usually some sort of information absorption or interactive thing (be it pinball, VR gaming whatever). Less commonly something completely passive like watching a movie.
My main problem is not enough hours in the day to do all the things I would want to get done; definitely no time to sleep at 8:30 at night

SDTM: a pinball show
Special Guests Ken Cromwell & Ryan C.
Nice!
Been looking forward to this. I only have 7 or so games on a pro but I was impressed with the shots. Some of them looked nearly impossible but we're routinely makable...
Quoted from chuckwurt:Gotta go premium or LE. Full featured games.
Why not do both? I would be interested if the choices change.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:Not that I'm a big Stranger Things fan, but I have to ask regarding the SDTM grading system: how does all A's (varying) and a single B (worth only 10%) add up to only an overall B+ grade from Zach?!
Seems kind of wacky.
[quoted image]
Weighted grading pulling up the "value" of the B, and discounting the value of the A+ ?
It does look odd, but I assume they have a spreadsheet that calculates stuff well enough. Only ~3/4 of the way through this episode so far but digging it! Glad to have you guys back to keep me company while working around the house .

Led Zeppelin Pinball First Look & Gameplay (Pro Model, Stern Pinball)
Thank you for posting; some nice shooting! First gameplay video I watched.
Seems like a competent enough game, but no big "moments" that I saw. If you are a massive Zep fan this is a step above just putting a bluetooth speaker next to a random pin (and 2 of the 6 cd's in my very rarely changed car cd changer are Zep cd's...). Until you play you never know. Could be some things hidden in the rules to grab you (like losing progress to the "do or die" shot on Iron Man...).

The Hakko FR301 Desoldering Tool Review
Another shout out for this Hakko desoldering tool review; I own two ancient Hakko 470's I have dumped probably too much $$$ in to keep running for the next 30 years (they are really well built, and parts support is crazy considering the age of the machines; they were ex commercially used units and old when I bought them used around 2003 or so).
I think any pinballer who has been in the hobby any length of time, and done their own repairs, has the feeling "I should have bought this long ago" when first doing any repair work with a good desoldering tool. Making the near impossible trivial should be their slogan
Quoted from Yelobird:Hmmm. Generally agree until you got to BM66. Kind of surprised Only based on market price that Fathom didn't make the list. Really fun game and art just Crazy prices. Agree on most of the rest granted I would have trifecta added Road Show over BM66
A few surprises on this list!
I too was surprised Fathom did not make the cut given Zach's prior comments on it.
I think almost every game for sale is "overpriced" these days, so maybe pinball as a whole is over-rated by that logic? With the benefit of hindsight, I think your list was more "lowest return in fun vs. $$$ spent" than strictly over-rated. I think whatever brand new release gets voted to the top of the Top 100 list is always going to be the "most overrated" game at that time.
I remember seeing a Quicksilver for sale at a show for ~$1100 around 2008 and had fun playing it; I thought "that is a neat game". Would I trade my JP2 for it? No.
Quoted from NoQuarters:Question not directed at me, but I will give an answer ...
I have only encountered one pin I'd put in the D or F range.... Dominos Pizza - Only game I ever played that was painful to finish playing even one game. Your mileage may vary.
I actually liked playing WWE and had that one for awhile. I can see you guys reviewing that one, with each of you just wearing wrestling trunks.
WWE was actually fun when I had it and guests enjoyed playing it after they figured out what to do.
Yeah, FWIW I understand the new direction, and may even learn a thing or two. It is hard to push into new spaces though, just look at all the "new to pinball" content I have seen where they don't even have terminology like flippers down (paddles, bats etc...).
So it is super easy to not know what the heck you are talking about and look like a noob, when you don't know what you are talking about and are a noob. (I know thank you captain obvious).
FWIW Domino's was the one location game on freeplay I reset or drained rather than finishing the game. My ball just seemed to go on forever, and I kept getting multiball and hearing the same callouts. It was a few years ago and thought "oh no".
I am no expert on WWE, but the few times I played it I enjoyed the high energy callouts. Yes, yes, YES .
They may get repetitive, but the game did have its pluses.
Quoted from rai:One that I disagree with is TS4 vs DI + NGG Gregg chose TS4 over two pins.
Gregg said DI was arguably a better pin than TS4 but he can’t own it because of the theme.
I say TS4 is a horrible theme because TS4 is a miss. It’s “The Last Jedi” or IJ4 of the franchise.
Take everything with a grain of salt. Buying a game because you like the armor or not buying a great game because you are not jazzed about a theme is puzzling to me.
I am more a player than a collector but that does not mean others are not more collector focused!
