Quoted from branlon8:

Hey you guys, I enoyed the show, as always. At the risk of nitpicking, wouldn‘t some of your criticisms of Addams like wash and repeat on the modes also apply to Indiana Jones?

I don’t think so because IJ modes are pretty unique and fun to participate in. Also IJ modes aren’t stackable. IJ has good video modes as well. And in IJ modes are huge point earners in bonus so you have to be careful not to tilt. And IJ wizard mode is much better.

For even money....Addams > Munsters

#4303 4 years ago

Adams Family over Munsters all day, every day. Munsters has shallow code (I don't give a damn if it's on purpose), no interesting shots, no real mechs, two flippers, and Adams family even has it beat on light show which is just sad. Also, who gives a damned about Stewy Pinball 2.0?

#4304 4 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Yeah but those were different times back then. It wouldn't be the best selling game today i am sure if it.

Cause Stern would have chopped the game into 3 pieces and removed everything unique about it. Subways, the 5 bumpers, thing hand, the library shot and a different layout. If Stern had made Addams family today it would look like exactly like the Munsters. Munster feels good to shoot but the shitty code, and lackluster animations kill the game. The fact of a color premium so fast and so many coming up for sale just drives home the point this shit sucks. Classic B/W titles keep going up and Stern titles keep going down.

#4305 4 years ago

The first time I played the Munsters lower playfield, I thought... Man, I hope I don't go down there again. Wasn't impressed.

It looked cool, just wasn't fun.

#4306 4 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

I like both themes a lot but i just thin Munsters compared to this pin here is better. TAF isn't bad and im not hating on it, i just never felt like it was anything super special. I would definitely like to have one i guess but not for the money that they ask for them.

I’m sorry - for the time period TAF had the best theme integration and it was innovative for the time. Made a fortune for operators. It was the definition of special.

The Munsters isn’t better than Addams in any of those areas. The Munsters is a great theme. It’s more modern but unlikely ever to become one of the best of this era as Addams did. Munsters could become great with redesigned code but even that wouldn’t make it better than TAF in the annuals of pinball history.

#4307 4 years ago

I have always enjoyed TAF, its a pin I always play when I see it. Its just so packed full of stuff. That being said I will never own it unless I stumble across one of those miracle deals. I wish it wasn't so overpriced its a great pin but its not worth that price point. I'm not a big fan of either theme but Addams by far is the lesser of two evils. TAF does wonders with that theme one of the best theme integrations ever.

Where’s the Munsters vs Addams Family comparison coming from?

Quoted from Gunnut40:

How in the fuck can you say Adams is better than Munsters(movies or want not)?

#4310 4 years ago
Quoted from ZMeny:

It started with commentary on you guys comparing theme only between them on the show, then moved on to pin comparison from there.

I'm also on board with Addams family as a better show. The wit, style, and characters are much better overall.

#4311 4 years ago

I also want to comment on enjoyability. Something along the lines of "it's the funnest game ever when you first start playing it but it gets old quickly over time."

That's exactly how I felt with my Theatre of Magic. When I played that on location I just had to have it. Having it at home I felt like it was the most filled machine with so many magical shots, but after owning it for six months, I sold it and feel like I never really need to play it again. Sitting next to Dialed In and Iron Maiden Pre, it just couldn't hold up because of repetitiveness.

Great point. In many ways I agree that. For me, TOM is preferable but each work best in a collection where you blow it up once a month and have a blast doing it.

Haha great idea but I’m way too selfish to take this to a show.

This feature is common and well understood by anyone who has ever restored a game or had one done.

#4318 4 years ago

good lord thats a fantastic Whirlwind restore. stunning!

Makes our local machine look like a hobo slept on top of the playfield.

And you seriously have to do some sort of competition with Bill's Whirlwind restore on Special When Lit (when it gets done of course lol).

SDTM BONUS CONTENT: Greg’s Guide To Happiness

***Warning: Explicit Content***

#4322 4 years ago

Happiness that is the word. This is a great topic. It's the puzzle you will have to figure out. Personally I'm still trying to figure this out. I think I'm on a break point(maybe). True happiness is not possiable! That shit is not real(like facebook posts of the prefect life)! The best thing you can do is balance out what you have and not compare what you should had. You should keep it simple like Greg's zen like move. I'm tired I want to go to sleep(I maybe putting y'all to by typing this crap).

Now the rant! How in the fuck can you sleep with 4 pillows? Round house kick 3 those outta your bed! Keep the flat one. Unless it's true feather pillow. Those fucking things are like putting your head on bed of nails! I'm jabber jaw this so I'm out.

#4323 4 years ago

Zach i thought you were the psychologist? It sounds like Greg is in that video. And i don't know what the hell Gunnut is trying to say but his drunken posts make me happy. They always put a smile on my face when i read them.

Just kidding Gunnut, you are awesome brother, keep doing what you do!

#4324 4 years ago
Quoted from Gunnut40:

If I could sleep with ten pillows I would. Haha.

#4325 4 years ago

I have the 7.5ft whole body pillow lol!

#4327 4 years ago

Team Zach all the way, I’ll sleep when I’m dead. Laying in bed alone just watching mindless TV, that’s sounds like a nightmare. That’s how you punish a child send them off to be alone in their room. As a kid I was like, how about you give me a smack, I got shit to do. LOL

FEEL THE POWER OF THE WIND!

Amazing job; I'd take that for 10K over a GI any day, but I am too cheap to buy either honestly

I’m game as long as it remains light hearted, ridiculous, and fun. I always enjoy the videos you and Greg put together. Keep up the great work and maybe find some time to sleep!

Zach has got the Limited Edition brain ?? Wouldn't want a limited brain

#4332 4 years ago
Quoted from ronaldvg:

Zach has got the Limited Edition brain ?? Wouldn't want a limited brain

But its exclusive!

In the "life" debate here I am more team Zach; as Conan would say "Time enough for sleep in the grave" .

That being said it is super easy to for me to get into a task focused groove. I do try to take an hour or two a day to actually you know settle down and have fun. But even that is usually some sort of information absorption or interactive thing (be it pinball, VR gaming whatever). Less commonly something completely passive like watching a movie.

My main problem is not enough hours in the day to do all the things I would want to get done; definitely no time to sleep at 8:30 at night

#4333 4 years ago
Quoted from BC_Gambit:

But its exclusive!

We all know the LE is just some more bling, nothing more

But I agree with Zach also. I tend to sleep 4-5 hours every day and the things I can do in the time that I am up are incredible. I spend time here, watch the best series, follow politics, enjoy other hobbies, spend time with friends every weekday if I want etc. Most of my friends go to bed at 22.30 or so and that's it. At that time my evening just starts.

Sleep when you are dead.

#4334 4 years ago

Some late-nighters in here. Much love for life experience over unconsciousness! Haha

Wow, that thing is incredible!! Great job and thanks for sharing!

I've owned this for 2 months and this review is spot on, in many ways. It is FUN FUN FUN! It is totally immersive. The shots are unique and compelling. The monster modes are all really different from each other and FUN!

The complete art package, music and callouts all rock! It is a fully integrated, tight presentation.

I've received this and Pirates the past few months and BOTH are completely trippy...in completely different ways. Both are top tables and both are true worlds under glass.

G'day Zach . Todd Tuckey has just announced he has had heart surgery , apparently it's all gone well . I think there should be a new award in the Twipy's for people who have given a lifetime commitment to pinball and he should be the inaugural winner

#4347 4 years ago

I want one. The music is good, the theme is fun, and the light show is spectacular. I worry about it being a clunk fest though.

#4348 4 years ago

Greg the speaker lights on that Deadpool.... Where did you get those?

#4349 4 years ago

Got a chance to play Alice for the first time at the NW pinball show yesterday. awesome looking game, love the artwork and animations. I definitely need more games on it to really find the shots and get dialed in and learn it better, but overall very impressed and great fun.
