Was thinking of working on a new pin and want to know if I should look for a lawyer first or just start making it? dont want to do a pin in bad taste or have some one steal it from me. Any ideas ????

Well, if you are making it for yourself (even if you do end up selling it later) you don't have to pay for a licensing fee. If you are going to make a bunch of them for resale then you will have to pay licensing fees.

IN that case you will have to trust them so you may as well ask them for advice.
If you are talking about licensing some rights and building machines for sale, sounds like you should at least have an initial consult with an attorney.
