V1.40 - October 2, 2014

- New Burnout multiball. Spelling 1-8-0 lights Burnout multiball.
The sequence of shots in Burnout MB is:
1) Shoot 3 jackpots
2) Shoot bowl to spell BURNOUT -OR- Collect your super JP @ captive ball
3) If you spelled BURNOUT, shoot L.RAMP followed quickly by captive ball for 360 jackpot
4) Pop bumpers relight jackpots.
- New Mystery Ford rule.
- Mystery Ford is lit by completing a race (qualifying race for Silverball Stampede).
- Shoot the bowl to collect an award.
- Awards include: Upgrades, Gears, Multiball, Extra Ball, 3x scoring, progress towards drift
- New SHIFT skill shot.
- Shooting the lit GEARS letter, without making any other switches, gives an award.
- Shooting letter A while the white column is lit awards up to two gears (!).
- Shooting letters G or E while the red column is lit awards points.
- Shooting letters R or S while the blue column is lit awards points.
- New R-P-M Spinner rule.
- Spelling RPM lights RPM spinner scoring.
- Shoot RPM targets to extend RPM spinner scoring.
- Spinner score is based on #upgrades.
- New powershift rule for Boss and LE machines.
- Powershifts awarded from sneak in skill shot and caution targets.
- Hit the center button during a race for a race shot award.
- New Extra ball qualification.
- EB now lights after qualifying two races for drift.
- New speech.
- Score balancing.
- EB now will appear in Toolbox if not enough extra balls are being awarded.
- Fixed new car lamp not always turning on.

Wish it was for the Pro also. Hopefully it won't be far behind.

Depends on your expectations. If you are looking for something different and challenging it's worth a shot. If you are looking for a title that will bout for an "A" contender you'll be disappointed. Not a whole lot to do but even with it's simplicity it can still get the blood going. I love the ability to select when I want to do my MB as a risk motive. I can't wait to play one again. Just bummed there isn't one locally I could dump some change in.

I've had a STLE and 2 different Pro's. Don't miss it at all but I'm glad those that own it are happy. That other guy though seriously needs to quit slobbering all over ST's balls.

GEAR SHIFT MULTIBAWLLLLL

Glad to see the 360 bowl finally got some use. Burnout's bowl rules remind me a bit of the bowl rules in CFTBL. Hopefully it will be stackable with Gear Shift and other modes like Upgrade Fast Scoring and the races.

I wonder if "score balancing" is going to lower the value of the super jackpots for Gearshift MB. If it does, it will finally make the game not ALL ABOUT getting a 5th or 6th gear MB. That would make it a much better game for league and tourneys.

After this I'm afraid they will be.

But there is no sweat, if you like to game that's all that matters. I really enjoy Transformers when I owned mine...and from the looks of it I will probably be getting another one to fill the void it created when it left.

Mustang is a tough game with rather short ball times as there aren't many safe shots. And like LOTR_breath said, 5th and 6th gear multiball needs to be balanced more scoring-wise. Hopefully this update addresses some of the (many) bugs too.

We all know Stern doesn't finish or polish code on less than successful titles. WOF, TF, Monopoly, Rollercoaster Tycoon. You can still buy TF NIB after 4 years off the assembly line. Mustang is in stock anywhere you call. You think mustang is gonna be any different ? I'm not talking out of my ass, I'm taking a calculated guess from past experience.

With that said... I do feel bad about people that buy these games and then are left in the dirt with a game that could have been so much more. For this specific Title i think Stern shot themselves in the foot by over promising and under delivering (songs are one of those things).
