Quoted from Rob_G:

I seem to recall someone had a similar issue and it was because an e-prom had a bent leg.
Rob

Yeah, Stern sent me a new one in case that was the problem but I still have the reseting issue.

#252 7 years ago

anybody else having this problem?

Is the problem that someone replaced the songs with weird, non theme fitting ones??

#254 7 years ago

Speaking of problems, I can get my Sparky bobble to shake in test and when there's a super jackpot, but it doesn't seem to do it at the start of Electric Chair multiball. Seems like the problem started with the new code. Anyone else seeing this? Or have a suggestion on stuff to check?

To each his own

#256 7 years ago

Do you still play your MET much? I hardly still switch it on to be honest

I noticed this @ my local pinball spot as well.

I know Prince and friends isn't for everybody, but it's got me addicted to this game all over again. I'm now playing it first every time in a lineup with GoT, twd, and ST.

I suppose it helps being a fan of 80s pop/funk

What size usb do I need for update? I know I've seen it but just can't find it anywhere, thanks

#260 7 years ago

Doesn't matter. The file is under 100MB.

#261 7 years ago

Is there any issues doing it with a Mac?

I was in the bar scene from the '70s to 2005 and heard alot of different music, recorded and live. Princes music and Michael Jaclson were a big part of it. So was hard rock, punk rock acid rock you name it. Prince had a bunch of good stuff just like any other artist and same with the bad stuff. Oh the times I had.

There's always issues when using a Mac

Might as well sell that MET now

I realize Lyman and John are flat out on newer pins.

So hoping for a final polish on Metallica.

The game is perfect apart from the graveyard fail during multiball.
i.e. multiple balls getting stuck on the magnet when the shot is made during MB.
the graveyard during certain circumstances, will have no reaction or progression.
like its literally dead, (pardon the pun)

I just went to Sterns web site and see LE and MOP 1.7 code available
I guess they are both the same ?

Metallica rocks as it is and will never leave my collection.
Excuse me for being a perfectionist

Then I saw the 1 year ago.

Mmm, perhaps I would have been better of starting a new thread ?

Sorry guys didn't mean to mislead

I did a search and this was the only thread that came up with latest code

Still wishing for the final update

Sorry man,

My poor choice of thread to re-open,

I was interested if anyone had confirmation that both 1.7 codes are identical ?

and anyone know if John and Lyman keen for final touch ups ?

From a programming perspective, there isn't anything that can be done in this situation. The magnet is holding a ball for you to shoot it for the super jackpot. If you hit it hard enough, the held ball will ricochet upwards and trigger the opto to award the super. If you hit it weakly, the balls will stick to each other, but no switches will register.

Since no switches have registered, the game has no way of knowing where that ball went. A ball search will eventually pulse the magnet and release them.

Happens on all games with magnets. In fact, happened last night on Mist mb playing BSD. I've only had two balls stick on the cross magnet a few times on MET. It sucks but magnets are awesome in pins and wouldn't change a thing. MET doesn't need an update as fas as I am concerned. I don't recall seeing any bugs in latest code. Best Stern game largely due to code. At this point, there is not going to be anything new added.

Thanks for the detail Ryan,
I didnt realise there is an opto there

I have played Graveyard multiball so many times now
always going for the Graveyard Super and always the 2nd even 3rd ball will get stuck in the graveyard magnet
it just kills me when you hear James going C'mon and the countdown timer running but you can't do anything until time out and ball search happens.

never have I jagged graveyard Super, had 2 -3 balls hung up in there many times.
I have hit good hard shots onto the captive ball, only to see it hang with the other.

I will run some checks on the cross opto and see what the go is

Anyone else get in this situation ?

Thanks
Ando
