Hmmm.....

9. . There's another scandal crazier than this that's about to rock the pinball hobby

Anyone care to share?

Quoted from DCFAN:

Cry for attention probably.

I normally would agree completely. But I've heard whispers about this comment from others, but no one is talking.

vdojaq nice job on being a stand up guy and apologizing.

Now instead of critiquing an apology can we get back to the thread topic.

Yep, classic. Houdini the escape artist. JPop trying to do the same.

Look over here, new shiny game with AP. Don't look at the MG, RAZA, and AIW people I swindled in my other hand. This is all new and shiny.

Sorry, JPop owes way too much money for forgiveness until a plan is laid out on how to remedy. AP hired JPop and now make claims MG will be delivered. To me they just assumed his debt. Where is the plan? The communications to people who got swindled? Nada. Just look at the shiny new toy now hand us some of your money. Then possibly....exit stage left.

Again, apologies. This hobby is nuts. We are nuts. I can't believe some of you who lost money like me are getting excited. If AP wants to be legit, address all the Zidware customers with a clear communication on what the going forward plan is - good or bad. Then make your decision to support them or not. Until then, anyone who gives AP a dime is looney tunes.

Quoted from MinusWorlds:

They ARE in communication with the group of owners led by Kim

I'm in that group on Facebook and haven't heard a word. Maybe I'm not read up.

I've solved the riddle. It's so obvious now.....

Houdini - Escape Artist - JPop

Vasani - Princess Bride - Inconceivable

Vegas reveal - Gambling - Losing money

Call me Badbilly Holmes.

May I recommend light reading for the flight into Expo....

Quoted from Astropin:

P.S. I lost zero $ in JPOP's previous endevor.

From someone who did lose money, well stated.

Nice job! Now just change the quote from Tom Hanks to Kevin Kulek and it's perfect!

Quoted from Pinballs:

Isn't Houdini a cut-down MG?

I think you're onto something.

MG will be the LE and Houdini the Premium. Watch, same game. That way, two birds one stone. JPop gets to deliver a game for MG owners and fulfill his debt and AP can sell re-themed Houdini to all newcomers.

RAZA I bet will be same. RAZA LE and re-themed for mass public. That's how he could possibly pull himself out of the hole he's in.

Thanks for sharing. My takeaways:

- They value JPop experience & talent; understand legacy issues
- No manufacturing plans yet. Still hiring every week - may outsource.
- Doesn't sound like any game is playable right now. Questionable if working by Expo but a video may be presented
- Houdini is not a reskin of MG
- Approaching MG customers first; then based on market feedback will create a strategy for RAZA & AIW owners. Don't want to get ahead of themselves.

Curious:
- A lot of respect for JPop. And a lot of baggage. Why not hire another designer with equal portfolio and better reputation?
- Why does a new pinball company even care about MG, RAZA or AIW? Great follow-up question would have been does JPop own part of AP? Are you using JPop/Zidware IP to build these games?
- How can you monitor market feedback if you have yet to contact MG/RAZA owners directly?
- Is the going forward model preorder or pay at delivery?

Glad a new company is trying. Glad there may be a ray of hope for MG, RAZA, AIW owners where there wasn't a few months ago. But sounds like a new company that is not yet ready to build a game. Keep your money in your pockets and wait to see how this develops. Better than nothing I guess.

Quoted from MinusWorlds:

We have beaten the pre-pay question to death. Stop. AP has said many times they will not be using the pre-pay model. Will that change somewhere down the road? Maybe. For now NO.

Didn't hear that in the podcast. Where have they said this many times?

iceman44 you need to get an Illinois license. So funny, my wife and I were just talking yesterday about finally setting up a will.
