Pintasia (Bill Brandes) hold the rights to MG, RAZA and AIW, so this is a non-starter from Jpop and his new partners. I'm assuming the rights include any and all mechanisms (such as they were) and inventions (cabinet etc) for when Jpop attempts to transfer them to Houdini... Thanks to Jpop, there are plenty of patent documents etc proving this.

Hopefully, not too many people will be conned out of pre-order money by Jpop this time as he (or his partners) display empty cabinets, unpaid for artwork, pretty lights and non-functioning plastic.

I lost about $25,000 to Popadiuk. New putative customers- please consider yourselves warned. IMO anything that Jpop is involved with should be boycotted. I actually care a lot about the pinball community, and people like Popadiuk and Kulek have done (and apparently are continuing to do) a lot of damage. Shame on you, Popadiuk.

I ordered MG and RAZA from Jpop. I'm still awaiting a call from AP...

Quoted from flynnibus:

Maybe the a contributor to those preorder fiascos is because enough people DIDN'T listen to informed people.

Incorrect. I pre-ordered MG and RAZA, and am currently suing Jpop. No industry insider (who all knew/know what a flake Jpop is) said anything that might have deterred me. And I did check. I repeat- there were no informed people to listen to to warn us mugs away.

It was the silence of the lambs that did for me, therefore. They should have spoken up, for the good of the hobby/industry!

Thus, regarding Ben, whom I have huge respect for, for his modding work and pinball expertise, I WANT HIM to state frank views about Jpop. He is one of the best informed on this topic, and we need his input.

AP is OBVIOUSLY, SO VERY OBVIOUSLY, Jpop's attempt at manufacturing a Get Out Of Jail Free card for himself, to abrogate him of any responsibility for his dubious past. This will not happen. Jpop will be declared a bankrupt by the Court, and will receive punishment, however inappropriately minor. AP will not save him, as long as one litigant continues the legal action.

Jpop- actions have consequences, and that includes you, mate. You will not weasel out of this. I may have lost $25k, but the knowledge of this makes me smile

Oh, and I'm still waiting for AP to contact me about my free MG. Sadly not the car.

Quoted from iceman44:

They wouldn't be making Houdini either

Isn't Houdini a cut-down MG?

Quoted from pinballrockstar:

Yeah you are right...lost my focus for a bit...but still think you should convince spooky to ship international.
Now i might end up with a box of lights instead of a Spooky title.
Listen to your conscience Ben...that would be the saddest thing.
I am your biggest european fan and i can't buy these pins?
It sucks
We don't even have the ben heck show over here,we have to buy ben heck show dvd's from shady people in a creepy alley.

I agree. There are many in the UK who want to buy Spooky games too.

Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Remember, AP said they would deliver all MGs by the end of the year and Cointaker's MG at Expo. 0 for 2 right now.

This.

No flippable games were shown by AP, so AFAIC their promises are marketing BS with no evidence of substance. Bottomline, the legal cases vs Jpop are not being dropped (and certainly not by EVERYONE in the class action; that would be unlikely), and AP/Zidware don't own the IP for MG/RAZA/AIW, because Bill Brandes does.

Conclusion IMO: MG is dead in the water. And it pains me to say this.

Quoted from Skins:

It was a shit show. There's a reason they are redesigning the cabinet and didn't bring it. It's the same reason they brought on Joe to "clean up " jpop's work and making a clear line in the sand between American and zidware.

Joe Balcer has been brought in to replace Jpop. It looks like Jpop's strategy to 'clear his name' has essentially failed.

Quoted from gearheaddropping:

Wow, I have a feeling that these guys were totally duped by JPOP. They probably didn't do their research on the Zidware disaster and got involved by only hearing one side of the story. The Houdini machine is clearly a Zidware piece and more or less an advanced science fair project.
I really feel bad for you MG, RAZA depositors. The blows just keep on coming around these projects. At least Kevin's Predator disaster is staying contained and he doesn't seem to be infecting other projects.

I never thought the MG/RAZA exhumation would succeed. Obviously, I'd be delighted if it did, but No Way IMO.

I wish AP the very best of luck with this. They've pulled a rabbit out of the hat twice now!

I love steampunk, and as a design ethos for this pin think it would work really well.
