Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

Meanwhile, the supply was fixed and now HUO‘s fetch $15k.

Supply was fixed so that's why they fetch $15k. If JJP makes POTC again it will be over $10k. There is nothing in the history of JJP or pinball that would say otherwise. Part of the problem with low demand in the beginning was the high price imo.

Quoted from rai:

Heck MM Royal is $10K? I'd pay $10-11K for a new PotC *not* $15K for a used one.
I do think PotC is probably a good buy at $10K (all features not a standard edition).
$15K no way I can get two Stern premiums for $15K

I think that is the core problem. The only reason $10k sounds good now is because used ones go for much more. No doubt the price would be well north of $10k given the limited market and high build cost. No matter how good you think POTC is, you have to question is it that much better than two good Stern games and worth the risk if there are still clearcoat issues. I think JJP would be far better off concentrating all efforts to get the next new game out.

Quoted from zaphX:

I wonder how serious all the "moar POTC" people really are.
It would be interesting to set up a JJP kickstarter with one level: $12.5K. 500 spots.
Would there be enough people to fill that, willing to commit the money?
Maybe JJP would consider doing a run if someone walked up with $6.25M of pre-sold games.

You really think that many people would drop that kind of money sight unseen with just a hope they would get produced? I would be amazed if they just got half that many people to put a small deposit if $12.5k. This game did not sell well to begin with for much less. Many that would buy already own it or owned it in the past. Those looking to buy have their price limits. I think this is the same problem CGC is facing with remakes. You are looking for new customers and competing against used pins. You have to make the remake more attractive with extra features and/or price.

You don't have to like the band but no denying they have been popular through the years. They were extremely popular back in the day and songs still played constantly on the radio. Pretty much everyone knows who they are and can name at least one of their songs. JJP could do far worse when it comes to band themes.

Quoted from majicman110:

I don't follow the logic here.
I mean everyone knows who Steve Urkel is and can name at least one of his catchphrases. There is no denying his popularity back in the 90's....
What about furby? Tickle me Elmo?
JJP could do far worse because people in general are morons that like stupid crap

So JJP should do a band theme that is not popular? Great logic.

Quoted from zaphX:

Did you guys notice those fully articulated stage spotlights sweeping around? SICK

Yeah, those and other lights shine right at the player. Looks awesome to me but wonder if all the lights might be too blinding for some players. I can't imagine playing the LE or CE in a dark room with the sound cranked up. Fill the room up with questionable smoke and it will be just like a real concert lol.
