Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Stern always has at least 1 or 2 duds a year but can afford it as they also have 2 or 3 hits a year as well. Stranger Things for example bombed terribly, BK SOR didn't do well either, Munsters wasn't well received, and Beatles seems to be a dud.
Stern is only killing it in terms of production and releasing games quickly. Personally I'll take quality over quantity.

True, those all sucked, but they made some awesome games too.

One out of every three or four Stern games have always been a turd but even their turds sell three times the # of game than a JJP POTC

So that makes Stern games better? Do you think Ferrari cares that Ford sells more cars then them? No. Does that make a Ford Focus better then a Ferrari F8? No.

A company can be successful without having to be the #1 sales leader in an industry. That happens every day with thousands of companies. JJP doesn't need to sell as many games as Stern to be successful.

I understand your point, but come on, Ferrari? Hardly.

Your analogy would make more sense if you were to say GMC versus GMC with a Denali trim package. And even THAT'S a stretch.

#2606 33 days ago

So we have evolved from carguments to trim packageguments.

3 X 7000 (Stern) = $21,000
1 X 10,500 (JJP) = $10,500 in revenue. Lets just agree that the cost to produce is "slightly" higher on the JJP, as a percentage, Stern will make more "profit" times 3.

No doubt that the JJP is a nicer piece of equipment - fit and finish wise. I believe the display alone makes it worth a grand more. In the end though it is about resale. The JJP will hold up better and the true "home run" will actually appreciate. That said, the home runs are few. I personally could care less about Guns and Roses. Not interested in the band nor having the theme in my basement. As nice as the theme-music-and callouts were on Hobbit, I can't imagine listening to Guns and Roses over and over. It has to be something the masses want or it will never be a big hit. The casual guest you have to your house will cream when they see any new pin, either JJP or Stern. They'll play it a few times and then leave. You however have to love it and so do others who play games regularly. 10 grand + is a lot of money. Even under the best of care (and we all care for our stuff), these are depreciating assets unless they are kept NIB in a controlled climate. None of these are Ferraris and no pin made today is a Focus. Some just have landau tops and white walls - options that won't mean Jack in 20 years. The average 10 grand + pin from JJP will be worth what a good Williams pin from 1990 is worth today in 30 years.

I was waiting for the boys to kick in.

Ford vs Ferrari. Great movie.

JJP = Tesla. Stern = Harley Davidson. That's not a dig. I own all 4 of these brands and love them.

If you were to collect items other tham pinball you would see the hevey bidding on items in the $1500 to $5000 range. You would also see a drop off in the $5000 to $10,000 range and how few buyers there are in the $10,000 plus. For many of you that you and you friends money means little that is not the real world

I think I need to pipe in here. Ferrari’s are obnoxiously loud, gas-guzzling, absurdly overpriced vehicles with very little space to transport stuff. How does this make them better than a Focus? At least here in EU, the Focus is pretty awesome.

Yeah, well we all kind of expected those. Where's the 4th?

#2617 33 days ago

I really Hope JJP Fixes their Collectors Edition debacle.

I mean we are all assuming GnR will be shipping within a 3 weeks after reveal in October right?

They did better with Wonka when it comes to that but they totally Failed on the CE of Wonka. Nothing was finalized for months after reveal on the Wonka CE. And i dont a single CE Wonka was delivered for about 6-7 Months after reveal. Thats a total Failure.

Im Wanting a CE of GnR but im not about to wait 6-7 Months for it.

They don't have a 10.5K model. 7.5K, 9.5K and 12.5K is the model pricing. Even before the new pricing structure, there was no 10.5K model.

My point wasn't 10.5 or 12.5, it was 50% (or thereabouts) more than an equivalent Stern. The revenue on each Stern might be less, but as the caller stated, they sell 3 to 1, that's 3x profits as well. Is there 4K+ more in a JJP? only you can decide. I do think they build a better machine, but not sure it is 50% more...

JJP puts out one game a year roughly so it just depends on how fast you can save. I was playing Twilight Zone and thinking about Pat making Toy Story and I got kinda excited.

Yep exactly how I feel plus my daughter loves Toy Story. I'm sure it will be amazing and it seems like there is a good chance he's doing it. I was hoping since they picked up quite a bit of steam this would be the first time they release 2 pretty close to each other. Technically one late in 2020 and one possibly early 2021. Time will tell!

Here’s two reasons for starters.

JJP just posted on IG that they are working hard to make “your October a memorable one”
It’s a pic of the whole team and isn’t that Eric in the middle?

Yes, I saw on facebook. LE and SE will be shipping immediately after reveal in Oct and CE will come later.

There's a little bit of car porn. The second photo is likely as close as I'll ever get to sitting in one.

Plus it has a trunk (with the top up), 4 seats (technically), and is the cheapest Ferrari on the market.

#2635 32 days ago

Do you think that JJP was aware of how weak Deeproot showing was going to be and that’s why they waited for their reveal?

Has JJP ever shipped immediately after a reveal? Like same day? To my knowledge not.

#2642 32 days ago

Absolutely, I just hope I don't have to do an SE->wait->CE cycle like I did with Wonka.

No. Their plans and goals are their own. They aren't waiting on anybody else. Just getting things the way they want it.
