Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

Here are two ways to do it:
Sign #1 has a static scene with a rotating scroll behind it creating the motion effect
» YouTube video

I picked up a 1970s wood box with several waterfalls in Motion and sound.
Well the sound is nothing but there is a large acetate reel spread by two wooden dowels on motors,
so the scroll and motion is stunning, better then the original.

adapting it to the same size plastic topper is a bit harder, it doesnt fit in its current structure.
I even picked up smaller ones. So, I know it can be done...either with the skill to rearrange the mechanism, or a larger
Topper. It was my hope to simply place this behind one with the cutout.

Now I need time, and strength.

These are found on Ebay for about $10-$20

I dont remember....I might later..One of the ebay pictures shows the speaker.
These are newer, Japan?

The one I have is in a wooden box. German made, I think,

Its rolling water. Some others have Birds too

Just a thought, If the waterfall is printed with lenticular lithography, and I dont remember the maximum
number of "stills"..5? 7?, could a small motor that moves it a few degrees back and forth give the result?

or perhaps, animated EL Paper, which can have brilliant results today and low cost too?

Quoted from Gibranx:

Here my second test,
my little test put in a compositing to see the final effect
There is still a lot of work to do but we are starting to see the first results!

I understand, I believe, where you are heading with your Lenticular work.
I hope you succeed, as many would LOVE a solution.

It has been my hope, with time, to complete a conversion that uses lit roller waterfall boxes from
a generation ago that come in many styles and run around $30.
I was going to shorten the graphic height and roll and remake box.

Maybe someone else will be inspired too.

Quoted from fishbone:

I love the original WhiteWater topper and don't even own the machine. Mesmerizing for me to look at, just like a lava lamp.
I was thinking the same thing, those animated waterfall pictures could be a viable solution. Do you own one and could share some info on its interior design and the translight?

Yes, I bought 2 different ones from Ebay at around $20-$30 each.
They come in a handmade Maple or Birch wood box.
Inside are old incandescent "Christmas" type bulbs and a roller mechanism, with printing
on an acetate sheet, that revolves around in a loop.
They do look like amazing waterfalls.

I have 2 thoughts/directions...both involve altering these.
One involves adapting to have areas work with the existing graphics we all know in
the printed topper....cutting out waterfall areas to let this mech show the water,
and the other is to leave the mech intact, and add Whitewater elements...boulders, rafts,
bigfoot in front to "blend" the theme and cover that which doesnt relate.

Both are on my List of Wild Custom Toppers, I hope to dive into when the dust settles here....

In any case, I think all of us would Love any cool topper we could find, and I hope someone else might
see my vision, or another, to help this great game!

If your end up being able to pull this off and it's certainly looking like you have a strong shot of doing it then you certainly will be ranked number 1 in the pinball hall of fame. Im sure I speak for all here when I say we are all pulling for you to succeed.

Its like he found Bigfoot!....Wait!

Your perseverance is exceptional!
