Quoted from JerseyJack:Guess what - when you get a license - you do what THEY want you to do or allow you to do. That's why Pat Lawlor's game is an original theme so John Youssi draws all of the artwork.
What would WOZ artwork look like...uhhh...WOZ - hand drawn or not it will be approved as WOZ. You don't license a property and make the characters look different, it won't be approved.
It wasn't the idea of the license holder to have Gandalf stand five feet away from another Gandalf on the left side of the cabinet, this is a JJP trait. Like for instance: why did you need the community to remind you that the image of Smaug on the playfield shouldn't have his wings touch the circles? Yes you fixed that, but this is something a professional should have figured out for himself, and the license holder cannot be blamed for this either. It's weird that you're getting design advice from internet f*cktards like us.
Same goes with the sculpting of the pop-up orcs, they have an unmistakable quality that is unique to JJP. The license holder can't debate you on proper anatomy with a "fix the zygomatic bone structure" comment. And you can't use tech limitations as an excuse either (like was used in the other thread) seeing that Medieval Madness' pop-up goblins have a properly bulbous cheek bone structure (MM's goblins are shown as a close-up on pinside's upper banner intermittently). Some of your artists are not talented, you need a real art director to screen them. Blaming Warner Bros doesn't work for every artistic argument.
