I lived in IL for a few years, and I don't think that is an accurate statement. Your government pensions and benefits killed your budget over several decades, everytime someone attempted to correct it, the Chicago machine fired up and killed their reputation. The machine is all powerful, and has been for years. You reap what you sow. But have at it...I just feel for all those outside of Cook/DuPage County, they have no say in how your State is run.
