Thanks. How many increments did you open up the holes to slide it? 1/32? 1/16?

Was just 1 or 2 steps as I recall. The material is soft as butter. You'll see how much material you have to work with on the mtg bracket; that will be your best guide. You'll also quickly notice the limit of movement caused by the nylon bushing bumping up against the playfield cutout.

Exactly correct. It felt like I was drilling through a block of caramel. And the first step only widened the hole by a fraction so I put second step through. Go no further than two steps.

Okay. I finally did this fix, but it is not working correctly. I drilled all 4 holes and then pushed it up as far as it would go. It is not much a difference, but it is now not flush with the wood. I put the machine in orbit test and threw the ball around the left orbit and it went all the way around on most tosses. I thought success! I then went into the game settings and set disable left orbit from yes (factory default) to no. I thought that was it; however with the game playing it does not complete the orbit. It falls into the pops every time. Any help?

I looked at it more. In the orbit test, the gate lifts up and opens and allows the ball to pass. When in game mode, the gate does not open and it bounces off the gate into the pops. I would have thought that was controlled by the game setting. ????

Doesn't that gate remain open the whole time while in orbit test? I don't recall so don't quote me on that. If that is the case then you may have a flaky orbit switch which is preventing the game from knowing the ball is coming.

I should add. I wish I would have done this mod from the start. After doing it my orbits got so much better it was amazing. Now several months later and a couple hundred plays later the orbit is buttery smooth. Almost like the game broke itself in. Not going to call it Pro smooth but it's super close now.

Not sure what the gate does in the test. I hear the gate click after the ball passes. On the loop test, it lights left loop, gate cl, right loop on a left orbit toss.

On the switch test, it is too hard to tell since too many go off when throwing the ball around.

Hmm.. That sounds like it's reading the ball correctly.

When you played a game did you do Martel mode? That one should loop each shot. Reason I ask is their are times it will loop and times it will go in the pops. Wondering if it was just the modes played.

That was it. It was the mode. I started Martel mode and tossed it around and it made nice clean left orbits. Thanks!

My GOT premium would previously never make left orbit loops. Today I removed the diverter bracket and drilled the holes bigger with the stepped drill bit. I then reinstalled it adjusted forward toward the player and cut and removed the three upper lane post rubbers from the game. I also deburred the the diverter arm with a dremel tool as it had very sharp edges. Went into game adjustments and turned GOT setting #6 to OFF to re-enable orbit loops and now I’m able to consistently make left orbit loops!

Right orbit shots for mystery and extra balls are also working better. I can complete Martell mode and after fixing this issue, my highest score went from 790M to 1.8B. I reached Hand of the King for the first time, what a rush! This game is just killer, I can’t wait for the forthcoming code update
