After a four or five year hiatus, I finally bought a new game. Now I just need to clear out a spot in the gameroom - foosball table to storage. I'll get it moved in and setup tomorrow. Thank you to KG for a seamless transaction. Only mistake I made was leaving the backbox bolts behind. I'm just too used to that old allen wrench lock.

A few questions for the masses please:

1. I have already heard of the Cleland sound/music mix. I have not yet read the 18 pages of posts though. Does anyone have good instructions for the process for someone like me who has never written to a SD card from a computer. I have a HP laptop and not a MAC. When I owned TWD, I did install an aftermarket sound mix but it was done via USB drive which was easy.

2. The Groot Hands mod. It looks really good to me. The cheaper ($79) places are all out of stock but it can be found for $129-$149. Those of you that have it - do you like it? Or do you feel like it blocks the view too much?

3. Does anyone have one of these aftermarket Orb and Stone replacement? If so do you recommend it?

https://cointaker.com/products/guardians-of-the-galaxy-pro-orb-with-lit-crystal-infinity-stone

4. Any other mods that people highly recommend? Thus far I have ordered a shaker motor and that's it.

I'll add some pictures tomorrow when I have it all setup. It's pretty cool to be "back in the game".

Congrats. Gotg pro my first pinball machine I purchased. 18 months later I now own 5. There is something about them that makes us own more then one.

powder coating, art blades, and the colored plastic protector set from Ulek store is super nice, and they glow on the edges!

I personally don't really care for the groot hands.

The cointaker orb you posted is definitely the one you want. I have it on mine and its beautiful and high quality.
Its from hookedonpinball.com

I second the ULEK protectors they look great.

Type 12 (I think) deluxe speaker light kit from speakerlightkits.com is awesome too.

Thank you. When you have time, could you please post a picture of the orb in your game? I'd like to see it. Thanks again.

I went ahead and ordered a shaker motor and the Groot Hands. I am considering the fancy orb, and I'll need to see if I can find a tech bulletin in regards to the Cleland sound mod.

1) This post should have everything you need.. Overall its a super simple process:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/gotg-sound-replacment-mod/page/8#post-4526517

One new change is you now need to PM Cleland for the latest version - Stern is cracking down on having these versions easily available. One other thing - read through that post to get a sense of the different versions that exist. I personally prefer the AppleJuice version.

4) I have this mod which for $20, is great: https://mezelmods.com/collections/guardians-of-the-galaxy-pinball-mods/products/guardians-of-the-galaxy-pinball-groot-illumination

If you do order from Mezel Mods pick up a couple of these as they are definitely the lowest price you can find around:

Wow you and I are almost on the same page as I've also been without a pin for 5 years now and am waiting on my GOTG Pro to arrive. I picked up Iron Maiden first since it was available right away, but hoping to have this pin in my house in the next day or two. I already ordered some mods but nice to hear from others in here what they like and looks good. Also I heard the shaker is great in this pin so you might want to grab one of those as well. Enjoy and great first pin to get back into the madness!

It's cnc'd metal, very nice detail, stone looks good. Center looks like brass. (Sorry hard to get a picture of the center)
This thing is heavy.
I'd probably keep it if I ever sell the game. (Just in case I buy another down the road)

No buyers remorse on this, I love it.

Good to see you too. And good to meet the others. I do have space for five games in the current setup and GOTG brings the total count to three. I do wish I still owned one of the three or four T2s that came through my hands. And I should have never sold my T3. That being said - I will probably stick with these new fancy LED screen games.

Stack’s (OP) is a good dude, glad to sell to him and nice to see him back in the hobby.

Mod the crap out of it!

The multi colored plastic protector kits add a Surprising lot to the appearance of this game.

I’ve been around the block on mods- one cool thing is how If you’re into mods, their cumulative impact on a game can be “greater than the sum of the parts”

There’s some anti-modders out there who would prob say the opposite!

Definitely do sound packages, speakers, shakers since they’re interchangeable with the next 5-10 games you’re about to buy.

Pinball Pro sound upgrade makes huge difference on the audio for sure

Have a few pages of other things as well If interested

Greetings! Swapping out your speakers alone does little to improve your audio because you're still stuck with the tiny de-rated amplifier on the MPU board. The stock amp has very little drive and is similar to what you might find in a flat panel television. Adding the feature rich PinWoofer amplifier increases dynamic range, which is the difference between the quietest and loudest sounds in the track. Reproduction over a wider range of sound intensity has the effect of providing presence to the title. You'll spend a little more with us, but you won't be disappointed.

Give me a shout if you want to learn more - happy to help.

-Dan
