As a Realtor, I would say that first impressions are important but you will never get a positive ROI on a 12k door...buy what you like but no way in hell it is an "investment". The only exception is if you have a multi million dollar property and you go super cheap on the entryway, but if the house was built with a composite door I would assume that most of the homes in the neighborhood do not have solid wood doors.
