New From ColorDMD!
See it at the Elevation Games booth at Texas Pinball Festival!
Information at the ColorDMD Seminar: Friday, March 28, 6:00pm!
In the video demonstration, the ColorDMD is synchronized to a Pinball Toppers speaker light kit. As others have stated, this is only one method to integrate this new feature in your games. We're excited about the possibilities!
A color-changing Spider-Man will be set up in the Elevation Games booth at TPF.
We'll show how this was accomplished, and provide some additional information at the seminar.
Thanks to everyone who came to Friday's seminar and stopped by the Elevation Games booth! The new color changing feature was set up in Marc's Spider-Man and synced to a Pinball Toppers speaker kit. Marc also had undercabinet lighting on that game so it was quite a light show!
The ColorDMD was driven from a splitter that split the +GRB signal that normally runs from the RGB controller to the speaker lights. The splitter just plugs into the LAMP_IN connector on the ColorDMD. Add in an upgrade to the SIGMA ROM, and that's all there was to it. The controller supports a wireless remote that allows custom selection of display color and effect, even with the backbox closed.
The new ColorDMD RGB interface contains some novel features that support pulse-width modulated (PWM) inputs for custom colors and color fading. The ColorDMD also performs gamma correction and automatic level control to keep the colors correct and avoid dimming of the display when the LEDs are fading.
We're sampling the code now to game and mod developers, and are aimed at integrating the display with interactive lighting kits. The feature will be freely available for general use in the SIGMA 2.5 release which is targeted for mid April.
We're preparing a FAQ that will provide some photos and additional information for using this new feature. If you are a mod developer interested in early access to the new code, please contact us at [email protected].
A FAQ explaining how to use the new RGB interface to control a SIGMA display is on our website! It's also linked to the main SUPPORT page.

Sorry!... link fixed above.
Quoted from Zitt:ok. so; now someone needs to reverse engineer Stern's new RGB LED protocol so we can build a "bridge" between the two protocols.
If anyone wants to investigate this, we can support any needed changes to our input interface.
Quoted from RobKnapp:Would really like to see your product in a video installed on a STLE . If some one was done it post it please. The DOT's for ST as a whole look substandard . Thanks , Rob
This video was shot by Thomas M pre-SIGMA 2.4. The GAMMA adjustment that was added to 2.4 probably gives better contrast between the bright and dark levels.
Also some short videos of Gio's nebula mod here.

Quoted from nicoga3000:Really thinking of picking one of these up for my TRON Pro. Is the display setup for remote control like advertised yet?
The RGB interface for the ColorDMD will be enabled through the SIGMA 2.5 firmware upgrade later this month. We're collecting feedback from developers now on any tweaks needed before we release it. "Beta" firmware is available now.
You'll need to contact the individual developers in this thread for information regarding the availability of any specific mod.
Here's another update from Pinnovating's facebook page:
In co-operation with Randy from ColorDMD we uploaded the new ColorDMD color changing possibilities into The Matrix! The basic color is obviously green, but now the color changes during modes and multiball to purple/margenta.
But that's not all...
Woman In Red on outlane/white rabbit award, red of course.
Morpheus mode, when you take the blue pil or red pil it changes accordingly. (for a Morpheus close up check www.facebook.com/colordmd)
Smith Mode (don't shoot the orange inserts), good shots turn white, bad shots turn orange, change/Switch-rampshot back to puprple.
Multiball, Jackpots flashes green/purple. 2nd level, spell KungFU, turns white. 3rd level, orange arrows, turns orange.
NebuchadnezzaR, final 'silent on flipperbats' level, Red.
Zion ramps hurry up, Red.
Oracle hurry up, orange insert on left loop: Orange
Kung FU Super Combo, purple.'
White rabbit award on right ramp.... blue (like the inserts on the playfield
End-of-Ball bonus, purple.

SIGMA owners:
If you would like to cycle the color on your display as shown in the video announcement, Doug Hanselman (the innovator of the PinballToppers.com speaker light kit) is now offering a simple-to-install controller with wireless remote. Even if you don't want to cycle the colors, the wireless remote is pretty handy for making custom color selections.
He's also got a low-cost cable to integrate your SIGMA display to a PinballToppers speaker light kit:
