Just curious, who's in on the new Bronco-sport or regular. 'Don't won't this to be a Jeep vs Bronco thread as I own a Jeep and like them both.
I've ordered the Outer Banks w/ leather, #2 at my dealer. 'Not sure about the Sasquatch package but might add it.

#2 3 years ago

I am a huge bronco fan as we had a White full size bronco like OJ and a Bronco II. I will be getting one but probably one a few years used. So I'm looking at getting one around 2023 as all the hype dies down. Mainly just commenting to follow the thread.

#3 3 years ago

I owned a JKR HR and loved the ability to drive w/ the top and doors off. When ford announced the bronco with similar features with a IFS I was pretty excited. It should drive really well on the road. Wish they made a 3rd bronco like suv so I could get the wife on board, the Jeep 4 door was just toooo small in the back seat for kids in car seats.

#4 2 years ago

I just ordered an Outer Banks 2 door Sasquatch, now the wait.

#5 2 years ago

Will they haul a pin?

#6 2 years ago
Quoted from Mahoyvan:

Will they haul a pin?

If i pop the back seats out and remove the top and doors and put them on end, could probably squeeze 2 with the tie downs in back. Or I could just grab the wife’s car.

#7 2 years ago

i would assume a 4 door will haul a pin similar to a jeep jku.

Here's mine! I waited 501 days.

Congrats on getting your Bronco! We didn't order until right before the March 7, 2022 cutoff. The way things are going, we'll probably have to reorder for MY23. We have a Badlands non-SAS on order.

You'll have to come to Corolla then. You can still drive on Carova beach for free.

Big Bronco fan. I’ve been waiting 2 years! Just canceled my order. I’ll come back in a few years and pick one up. Such a bummer!

Have you seen that the Bronco 2.7 Ecoboost engines are dropping valves for some reason.

NHTSA Investigating Ford Bronco over Complaints of 'Catastrophic Engine Failure'

I just went out and measured my Bronco this weekend. I was scheduled to pick up my Godzilla Pro and of course my pin-hauler (Ford Excursion) wouldn't start. I decided to measure to see if the NIB Stern box would fit in the Bronco (4-door Badlands) and decided it probably would not fit easily. I then measured my wife's Jeep (2020 4-door JLU) and it looks like it would fit in there without issues, but I didn't want to futz with the car seat. The reason the Bronco is not as good is because the floor is uneven. There is a big step up from the trunk area to the folded seats. The clearance between that step up and the roll bar was really close to the dimension of the box laid flat. It probably could have worked, but it would have been tight. The Jeep has a flat floor and had a few extra inches of clearance to the roll bar. Fortunately, I got the truck started and all was well! I love the Bronco. I've got the 6-speed manual with the 2.3 4-cylinder. Plenty of power for me. Incidentally, I also love our Jeep. They are both great vehicles with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Here's my Bronco and GZ in the pin-hauler:

Following the Bronco threads for awhile, this is actually a bit of old news. The 32 engines have been replaced under warranty, there’s been no new reports of this happening in quite a while. And none on the MY22.

I was a Day 2 reservation in July 2020. After 660 days, I finally got mine. Wildtrack with hardtop. Fun truck but much smaller than my Tahoe.

We actually got a 2022 build date even though we ordered on March 2, 2022. Build week Sept 26th. Can't wait!

#20 1 year ago

Liking the new Bronco. I 1st bought a 1968 with vacuum wipers that could climb snow piles in a parking lot when I was 23. Later bought the "Luxury" last 1st generation 1977 model with a headliner, padded door panels and even AC.

But till the market cools and they are not buying with such a premium price, I'll wait. Plus, Ford Eco boost engines are having problems early in life. I'd like to see how they hold up at 75K miles and beyond. The Escape with a similar Eco boost has 4 class action lawsuits were just combined into one and is working its way thru the courts. Our well maintained 2016 Escape with 70K miles will throw white smoke thru the tailpipe if it sits for more 48 hours. Only did it twice but it was scary. Research showed a design flaw in the block where the turbo leaks coolant into the head. Called Ford, the fix is a new engine, with the same flaw. So I'll wait.

August 2020 Reservation here. Still waiting on the availability of that sweet, sweet white hardtop to finalize order for a 4dr OBX w/Squatch. Looks like I'm into MY23. Fingers crossed for 9/12...

Good luck getting a 2022 build week. There's still almost all of October left to get scheduled weeks!

My build got pushed to MY 23, which may have been a blessing in disguise. I switched my order to the Heritage edition, which I really like it’s old school look.

Those do look cool. We had a Sept 26 build week and got pushed back to Oct 10 build week with an Oct 14 build day. Only 2 weeks to go provided we don’t get pushed back again!

I went into dealership and officially changed to a 2 Dr Heritage edition in Azure Gray. The only ones who can currently order these are people who had 22 reservations bumped. Salesman said if we get it in first half of 23, which we should, they’d give us $15k over MSRP, lol

I built Broncos at michigan truck plant for a number of years,I would love to have a new or used full size Bronco but of corse they will not even take an order.i am not sure where these are being built but good for Ford having a big hit on there hands.

They are being built at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Mi. You should be able to order 23s at the end of the month. It’s currently only open to those whose 22 orders got bumped.

I'm not sure if Ford still does this but they sent me a picture of my Bronco as it came off the line August 2021.
Also they will sent me a goodie from time to time.

Owned an Explorer (and a Contour) for years, and was pretty satisfied with my Fords. Aside from needing to service the brakes too often.

Was looking into getting a Bronco, but wondering if current or past owners could provide some feedback:

1. How do the brakes hold up?
2. Do these drive at all like a Jeep Wrangler on the road? (I'm not fond of how those handle on a typical road drive.)

I don’t have mine yet so can’t comment on the brakes, but haven driven a few different setups, I can say they are a much smoother ride than a Wrangler. Most reviews you’ll read say that the Bronco is a much better daily driver than the Jeep.

#37 1 year ago

I owned Wranglers before the Bronco. The Bronco rides much better on the road, more forgiving less bouncy. Great if 90Percent of your driving is on roads. What you give up is a little mountain climbing ability if you are an extreme off roader. But while the Bronco is still very capable, it's better to live with for every day driving.
I have had no problems but only have 1300 miles on it. Like my Wrangler, it only gets 18 or 19 miles a gallon so I drive my Subaru mostly. (I have the larger engine in my Bronco)

Yes, they are still sending them, but not everyone gets one for some reason. I hope I get one. My build day is actually today (got bumped from 10/14 to 10/10)!

Ford is expected to open the ordering to new customers in December. Glad to see they're trying to get all the 2022 holdovers built first.

What is the option on soft top vs hard..?

#40 1 year ago

Here is mine. Ordered a First Edition on day one and the dealer messed up the order and Ford cancelled it the dealer then agreed to give me one of their first Raptor allocations.

So what’s your hot take on the initial impressions?! It looks awesome!

2 door is hard top only, Either or on 4 door and from what I’ve read new to 23, there will be an option for both.

#43 1 year ago

You could get 2 door or 4 door in soft or hard top or at least you could in 2021. The hard top is a 3 section top. There is a section over the driver and another over the passenger. The rear section can be removed using 2 people or a hoist.

There’s no 2 door soft top from factory, aftermarket only.

#45 1 year ago

I could have sworn it was available in 2021. A powered soft top is available in 2023. My apologies if I'm wrong, it's just I was offered a soft top 9/21 delivery or 12/21 delivery for a hard top (August 21 build)
Edit- nope, I checked. The choice was the molded in color or regular hard top. I had to wait for the MIC which they had trouble with so my new Bronco sat on a lot for 3 months . Sorry, old age dementia must be setting in

Can anybody chime in on the 4 vs 6 motor?

#47 1 year ago

I have a line on a new outer bank in green but it has the 4?

#48 1 year ago
Quoted from rockrand:

How do plan on using it? If you look, the HP isn’t much more on the 6, but significantly more torque with the 6. While the MPG is substantially better on the 4. Also manual is only available with the 4 cylinder.

Quoted from rockrand:

I don’t have a Bronco but can chime in with the 2.3 in the Ranger. We wanted manual but that isn’t an option on the Ranger so I can share that the 10 speed auto is fantastic and pairs well with the 2.3l. It’s always ready to move and never feels delayed or sluggish. At all. The auto has been proven in both the F150 and mustangs behind supercharged V8’s reliably. Our ranger is Lariat FX4 4wd so heaviest of all trims. It seems 23-25 mpg with mixed driving. Towed twice with an open car trailer with 1,000 lbs to total about 2,500 lbs. Absolutely no issues. I’m a car guy that is used to having high power/torque dailies and fun cars. The 4 cylinder isn’t lacking. YMMV

I ended up going with the 4 cylinder strictly because it was the only way to get the 7 speed manual transmission. And it’s still 300 hp
