    Quoted from bigdaddy07:

Not quite. How is that relevant anyway? Just because the actress that plays a sexy iconic character ages we are supposed to cast anything that references to that charter to the refuse bin?

    Right!
How old would be Marylin Monroe now? Isn't she still an iconic figure?

    #402 10 years ago

Elvira is just a character, much like Bond, Superman, etc....they don't age.

    #403 10 years ago

I loved staying up late with my siblings as a kid watching Elvira on the weekend. She's still around too.

    #404 10 years ago

Haven't been on here in a while and sadly it looks like this dream has all but died.

    #405 10 years ago

Every time I see this thread title I sit up a little bit, and then realize it's the same old thread of dying dreams, and I die a little inside too.

    #406 10 years ago

I think R.W was on the right track, Elvira and the Haunted House seems like a good direction. Personally I would rather see a Haunted House theme and maybe just pay homage to Elvira as one of the characters, but not as the main theme.
BTW, SS is one of my all time favorites

    #407 10 years ago

Elvira vs the Zombies would be sweet.

    #408 10 years ago

I have a feeling this theme could turn up as a "Heighway Pinball" model. Dennis has signed up with Heighway, in the latest pinball magazine there was a feature about Elvira and possibility of a third version.

I think this is what's great about Elvira as a theme for pins. It can literally be combined with anything associated with the horror genre.

Man, do I hope you're right!! I actually have never heard of Heighway Pinball, before.

Gets my vote as well, this would be Thrilling. Black and white theme with green fog effect leds.

It's amazing how many times this has to be explained.

I know. OMG...we can't make a James Bond machine!!...Sean Connery looks so old!!

    #413 10 years ago

Ted, any word from Dennis, lately?

    #414 10 years ago

No, I haven't spoken to him. I think he's busy on a FEW projects.
...that's why I thought WNBJM was possibly one of the next Stern projects.

Must be why they used Roger Moore

    #416 10 years ago

....and Roger doesn't look like THAT anymore!

    #417 10 years ago

Connery is still the best Bond ever.

Sorry, it's Craig now. Bond should always have been a darker character, it isn't some cartoon job.

    Quoted from shimoda:

Never seen any of his Bond movies. I'll have to check them out.

    #421 10 years ago

Craig is a great Bond, possibly even my favorite, he's the most accurate to the book version IMHO. Casino Royale was really amazingly faithful to the novel.

    #422 10 years ago

I can't stand Craig as bond. I stopped watching the new movies because of him and the horrible new writing.

Have you read Casino Royale? Seriously, the movie is super faithful to the book, if you don't like it (your prerogative) then you're not really a fan of the original James Bond IMHO.

Are you talking about all three of his Bond films or just QOS? If just the second, you should know that was written during the writers' strike.

    #425 10 years ago

If you are a reader, Craig IS Bond.

    #426 10 years ago

I think Craig makes a great Bond. He has a bit of that Steve McQueen thing...

    #427 10 years ago

What were we talking about again?

Craig would make a horrible Elvira

    #429 10 years ago

Wouldn't it be interesting if a new Elvira took the place of the original like they have done with Bond? Any opinions and suggestions for a replacement?

They tried something like that a few years ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Search_for_the_Next_Elvira

    #432 10 years ago

She's hand drawn, no need to find a new one, she's essentially ageless. I don't want an impostor's voice anyways, real deal or go home.

    OOH I'M HAVING MULTIPLE JACKPOTS!

You're right he doesn't have the "Girls" or the legs to pull it off

Still holding out hope for this title. I will bump this thread every once in a while, just to keep it in the public conscience.

    #435 10 years ago

    I would be interested!

    #436 10 years ago

Yes yes yes !!! I agree. Elvira is a timeless theme...and monster pins are amoung the most popular of all time.

    #437 10 years ago

Just like the MM remake, they should remake SS. I'd have to get one if those!

    #438 10 years ago

You know maybe we shouldn't give up hope. If you had asked anyone on this tread if a remake of MM will ever happen it would have been a resounding, unfortunately No Way

That is exactly why I think anything in pinball is possible at this point in time.

    #440 10 years ago

It WAS being discussed, but a couple things happened at the time to kill it. Ya never know...it could be brought up again....

Just get that YouTube Cosplay chick. Damn she is cute and does pretty well at keeping true to the boobs and cornyness.

Ted, can you expand on that at all? I know licensing costs were an issue, but was there anything else?

    #443 10 years ago

That's pretty much it. Agents, costs...it just didn't gel at the time.....but, who knows....

Would make collecting the Elvira series even more desirable if a new Elvira pin was announced, the Luci has proved that there is still a market for T&A themed pins and Elvira is less in your face than Luci (so to speak) with added horror elements to boot. Winner I'd say.

    #445 10 years ago

Remember, we were discussing EATME (Elvira and the Monster Entourage) Elvira + Monsters = ...well, you know...

    #446 10 years ago

This is so exciting. This would be my first new pin... I hope jj realizes the potential in this!

    #447 10 years ago

I don't think JJ would do it, but Stern should be all over this!

    #448 10 years ago

What about EATIT (Elvira and the Intrusive Tentacle)?

    #449 10 years ago
    Quoted from spfxted:

but Stern should be all over this!

I don't know if Stern would give this title the effort it would deserve. And you're right, JJ would never do this theme, it's not family friendly.

I grew up in the 80s...and I remember watching elvira all the time... it is more family friendly than a beach, where you will see more boobs and hear worse language. PLUS it can have a family mode. I say go for it jj!
