Standard JPP game is around 8000$. To get the whole gameplay package with Stern this is Premium over 8500$.
And Stern playfield quality is way crappy.
    So I like fucking idea.

So because Stern had some playfield issues that means that their playfields are going to be forever bad I guess right? JJP has had some playfield issues as well, remember? I also think DI is 9k isnt it? A Stern pro is almost 4k cheaper than that.

i am glad pinball is keeping up with the times. is everybody into pinball of retirement age?

Nah, I'd rather go with a bieber or a lady gaga pin... or maybe vampire diaries! What do you think?

Stern gets playfield issues since several games. Got dimples on my GoT, GB, x-men, TWD, and it goes on with B66.
Stern knows their playfields are crappy before production but they build them. I hope Aerosmith will be without any issue. Nobody should buy a 6k pin with that kind of issue.

here, standard Dialed in is 8350€ and Batman Premium is 9100€. (GB Premium is 8590€)

Not worth arguing about and I dont want to derail this awesome thread. Go buy a new JJP game if that makes you happy.

I'm kinda new to pinball so maybe I just don't get how it works. As far as I can tell this is what happened.

    - Elvira herself was brought in (CP that is)
    - and the designers of the first 2 Elvira pins
    - and they showed all kinds of cool details about the first two and their artwork
    - then they said "there is a new Elvira pinball machine coming"
    - the end?

There are no pictures of it at all. No drawing, no concept, no artwork, no nothing.
There is no information about how it will work, what tech it will have, etc.
There is no indication of when it is coming. Next month? Next year? 10 years?
There is no indication of the pricing.
There is no other news about it anywhere, such as Stern website (that I can see)

I'm confused. Seems strange to me. Unless I am missing something. Or maybe that's just the way it works.

Probably a year out... quick conversation in the elevator with DN this morning..... Stern was probably the best choice for the ability to produce it quickly, in large quantities, and the ability to $$$ the license up front... (my two cents, not DN).. Would have loved to see this under the Spooky label.

That's pinball for you, reveals and launches rarely have the spectacle and grandeur we expect at events that we have become so accustomed to in most other industries.

I would be great to see pinball reveals and accouncents made with the showman ship and taken as seriously as other reveals in other industries.

Would have been awesome for Cassanda, Dennis and Greg to have come out with the hall lights drop out, little thunder and lightening light show some air blowing on people's ankles like a 4D cinema showing, lights come back up and bam there sat on stage.

But it's still cool as f**k, listening and watching some of the greatest pinball minds just talk shop and share behind the scenes info/stories.

    #962 7 years ago

I own EatPM and SS. I would love to have seen the presentation. Even without the announcement of E3 it iscool.

This also probably helps to gauge interest and get people talking. Sometime on-line discussions can lead to good ideas ad they do listen. And for people very interested this might help to lock them in from making other buying decisions.

I personally missed the Elvira boat. Not even remotely interested unless it is amazing.

And so far, no Elvira game = amazing to me. I do like scared stiff, that would be the only exception, but I still don't NEED to own one. Just me, I'm glad others are interested. She has a nice rack!

Other industries do this all the time. Check the video game industry, hardware and sometimes software is teased or leaked a year in advance to build hype and gauge interest. The car industry does it as well, nothing unusual here. If anything it does show how important theme is to pinball.

Yes, but the video game industry usually teases with a rough rendering of in-game screenshots, and car manufacturers will either tease a sketch, or a one-off prototype. Simply ending a review of the first two games and then just saying "yes, we're going to build an elvira 3" with no timeline, pricing, not even a napkin sketch seems a little premature.

So go buy from the other guys,

Dutch Pinball............ spend 10k and youll be lucky if you get anything
Skit-B...................... give them you cash and you DONT get anything
Heighway................. games that dont stay running and problematic CPU, wait years before getting one
Spooky.................... not a lot there for what you pay.
JJP.......................... huge price tag but solid build
STERN.................... Only 5k pinballs out there that are full featured, original and are proven to hold up over time. PERIOD

IMO .. yes Stern does have some of their own issues, but they make the BEST, most affordable pins out there. And at if you preorder at least you know you will receive a game.

Tacshose your constant Stern bashing posts are really starting to get old dude. Nobody really cares what you have to say. People on this forum are grown men and if they want to buy a New Stern your ignorant comments aren't going to stop them from doing so. Now go ahead and give this post here a downvote also ok? You just love chasing me around the forums like a little girl downvoting every post that I make so you may as well downvote this one also. You are one weird dude and you need to get a life for real.

Dutch pinball? An European manufacturer... with No European distributor. Nice concept...without me.
    Skit-b? Don't know them
HP? Young manufacturer that needs time to be fully reliable...as every new company even Stern. Their game look good and fun
Spooky, Not a lot there for what you pay? You always weigh your game to check if it worth the price? What a GoT gets more?
JJP? Cheaper than premium with a solid built quality..and so let's weigh this one...
STern? Pro is 6000€-6200€ at least here And this is not the whole package game. Playfields are crappy currently since several games now.
Anyway, I'm not against Stern but I won't buy anymore till playfield issue is not solved. No game deserves to be built by Stern currently. Customers are paying for Stern failures in the secondary market. No way.

Why are you complaining about that?

The wheels are in motion, and this was an early hype sesh. Sam Jones from Flash Gordon was there and he didn't even get to announce a new game!

When pinball companies rush with the details is when they get in trouble. Why present some half-ass sketch or concept details when you have no idea of your exact timeline just to get the haters in the peanut gallery a head start? Really don't understand the complaints here. This is a Stern project and they don't announce things that don't happen so just sit tight bro.

I agree completely. Everyone at the show was dying for the announcement to happen and what better time when all 3 of them were on stage. It sounded like it will be after Steve's next game so it could be at least 6 months before we see much. That's fine by me as it give's Whizbang time to get everything perfect. Dennis claimed it is going to have several brand new things and he's proven he can make any type of layout that you could think up. I know I'll be passing on SW and waiting out Elvira 3 with my pin money.

This has a chance to be a great year for pinball. AFMr is coming and priced to sell, DI will start shipping in a few months, AP with Houdini looks to be the real deal with a pile of money to back them, new stern games in progress from Steve, both John's, and Nordman. Then you have Alien which looks like it might be starting to pick up speed, Spooky #3 with Ben already working on #4, and I won't mention Dutch and they suck balls right now and don't deserve to be mentioned with companies that actually deliver games. There will be the most competition for pin money ever this year so why not announce it and let people know it's coming.

Pretty much everything is still unknown, but I did catch Greg on the show floor on Saturday and he confirmed that it will be a straight Stern game, not Whizbang-via-Stern a la WNBJM.
