    Quoted from Manimal:

Tested the commercial rings along with these:
    amazon.com link »
Turns out the Amazon rings are the best bang for the buck. The 70mm fits in just perfect, and a couple of spots of silicone keep them in place. They are not overly bright and in single color mode are dimmable. The diming feature doesn't apply if you have it in motion, fading from color to color...but that is with any of the led's. I just used Velcro to tuck the controller inside the back of the leg, and it fits there just fine. You can run 12V from a small transformer, and that is all you need. They look great. As soon as I get them all mounted, I will post a pic. Nice add to the game room

Did you get a separate controller for each one?

    #152 4 years ago

Keep in mind those rings come with a single controller, so if you use one controller fo four rings, then the controller needs to be mounted on a middle pin. In my case, I had a bunch of single controllers laying around from various projects, so i gave each pin it's own setup. You can go either way, and the controllers and transformers are pretty cheap on Amazon.

    Just a wall wart type?

    #154 4 years ago

Yep, they draw so little, about any 12v source will do so long as the polarity on the plug is correct. Like 4 bucks on ebay or amazon.

My five clear samples arrived today. Fit and finish is excellent, and very pleased with the purchase. Thank you Kevin.

My black sample looks and works great. Had it on my LaserBall throughout the Louisville Arcade Expo and it held up great.

    #158 4 years ago

Very nice! The production parts with come with 2 1/16 thick washers to go on bolt heads.
Will prevent a crack from over tightened leg bolt on the brackets.

Kids are home so I put them to work bagging screws and washers.
These are the production screws called tri lock. They are designed for plastic applications. Very nice hold ability.
Each cup will have 2 screws and 2 washers. Washers can be used under leg bolts for extra strength. The cup holders with led cap will have a extra tri lock for cap.

So is there a pricing structure built yet on these cups?

    #166 4 years ago

    yes,
    black $9.95
    solid colors $11.95
    clear with led cap $13.95
translucent colors with led cap $14.95
exotic colors or custom colors $16.95 (like the nuke green)
we will figure in a bulk discount like for over 4 parts.

brackets have been ran, running cups this week and next, we have,
    black
    clear
    red solid and trans
    green solid and trans
    blue
    trans blue
    yellow
    light blue
    glow in dark
    purple
    nuke trans green

the clear and all translucent colors will have the led cap included

    #167 4 years ago

Sorry bud, but I don't get the pricing structure at all.
You had me until you started talking about colors and translucent more expensive.
I just don't get why a "exotic" is 7 dollars more expensive. It's the same material; you just added tint colors to it. (except ofcourse GITD)

I'm certainly not an expert in pricing injected molded parts... but in my experience injection molding pinball buttons; the colors are the same material costs as the black.

I'm probably going to stick with PinGlups as they at least have a sensible pricing strategy.

    #168 4 years ago

I haven't read all this tread but I think I'll give one a try and see how I like it. I have about 10 pingulps but have about 35 pins in my game room. Let me know when they are ready to order. Don't need anything fancy black with not lighting will do. PM me when ready. Thanks.

So when you say the LED cap included does that mean the LED itself or just some cap to cover the LED? I guess i'm asking if this is a complete pre-lit cup that just needs to be bolted on and wired up for power for the LED or if this is just another pingulp cup that still needs more parts to make it light up? Sorry for the confusion but it's unclear what is included.

It is a cap on the bottom of the cup that provides the space for you to install an LED of your choice.
Look back towards the top of the Thread and you will see a few pics of Cups w/ LED Rings added.

    #171 4 years ago

yes that is correct, the bottom cap is the housing for what ever led ring or strip the end user would like to install.
I decided there are way too many led options/voltages and ways to do it and that we would keep it a end user install for personal preference.
However a major LED company is looking at a kit for these

Ready to order 10 plain Jane black.

    #175 4 years ago

Do these nest for shipping? I have 15 or more pins and i'm in Australia, would be awful expensive if not.

My fork lift could do with an upgrade too.

Also can you post a pic of a can with a cooler on it in one? Dunno if coolers are popular in the states, but closed cell foam can coolers are ubiquitous here.

    #180 4 years ago

    Shipping
USPS box A is $12 and up to 4 cups
USPS med flat rate is $13.60 for up to 6 cups
USPS large flat rate $18.60 for up to 20 cups.
    International orders PM me.
Australia is $30 for the large flat rate

    #181 4 years ago

20 cups on the way to me in Aus! yippee!

Just a reminder because I keep getting asked. The PCUP bracket can be mounted to the leg 4 different ways by just flipping the brackets. Everything is ambidextrous for mounting. Here is examples of the same brackets and the 4 ways.
You will not need to order left right.
The other option is I have the ambi flat bracket for coin doors and arcade machines.

All I see is pics of these drink holders mounted on Williams/Bally machines. Seems to me that they sit way too high to be mounted on a Stern machine (legs mounted 2” higher on the cabinet). Appears that a long neck beer bottle would get in the way of the shooter rod or the flipper button.

Lets see a pic of this cup holder mounted on the right front corner of a Stern machine. Looks like it would directly interfere with the plunger. Also looks like it would interfere with even the mildest slap save when mounted on the left or right side of the cabinet.

Only “safe” spot is front left side?

    #185 3 years ago

Stern Indy. Yes a beer bottle too high for right front. That’s why there are 4 mounting options. I guess I don’t know what a slap shot is so guessing whacking flipper button from the side right or left. Seems like plenty of room for normal play to me. Here’s some pics on a stern. I’ve got these on all my sterns on route in bars and have had no complaints. Mount to left front or you can get a pin gulp from terry if you have to have it mounted to right front?

Lots of mounting options, no complaints from our test locations earlier this spring and we had them mounted in pretty much all 4 positions. Bars were extremely happy with ability to remove easily and sterilize in their dishwasher.

    #188 3 years ago

Proto stern cup extender. The concept with this cup is to be flexible, adaptable and modular. We can build add ons, accessories and attachments on the fly as needed.

    #189 3 years ago

Will that be an added cost, or just indicate that your cup is going on a Stern game when purchasing to receive it?

    #190 3 years ago

This is just proto ideas to give options. I’d have to build molds if this looks like viable option. We have had no issues with cups mounted on outside or left side of sterns. Pics of proto number 2. Has 5 degree angle to compensate for the leg angle

I literally just came to say this is an issue. I just got a deadpool and mounted the cup holder and boom, its in the way of the flipper buttons. Definitely going to need some way to make it hang lower. Its OK for cans, but thats about it.

    #192 3 years ago

it can mount left front with no issues i would think?

I dont like mine in front, it makes it too easy to catch as you walk by (I already have enough trouble with the guns on fish tales, shadow and dirty harry) and I dont really like the look. After seeing your mock up, Ill probably look into 3d printing a piece. I know you already finished tooling, but having it lower would be super nice if possible.

For those of us wishing to know as i was if they hold a can with a cooler, the answer is yes indeedy do.

Breakfast spread included for authenticity to show they traveled half way round the world when i'm only allowed to go to the local shop.

I'll get some more later in the week when i have some mounted.

    Quoted from Irishbastard:

Offer a smaller version as well, I hate the Pingulp due to its size. If you have a can, bottle, etc in it while your playing an aggressive game, it bounces all over (It appears in your pics, in the clear holder for example, that glass could tip). I ended up printing them myself for all my pins (see pic of one of the first ones I printed in PLA, have others in PETG and ABS). Mine hold everything perfectly (Except large coffee mugs, but I don't drink coffee).
    [quoted image]

Well if you play aggresively I don't think a pint glass like that would be a good idea anyway as it would slosh all over the place. If you nudge hard then a can would be safer or put it somewhere off the machine. I agree for a bottle it might bounce around in that a bit too much though. Kind of hard to make something like that universal to cans, mugs, bottles though so I think it looks pretty versatile. Yours looks great too! Personally I wouldn't use the holders as I just don't like the look on the game and I think I would end up spilling and bumping into it all the time cause I'm a dork that way! LOL

    #198 3 years ago

Too many people put their drinks down on the carpet either where they are playing or under the machine next to them. Will be a disaster one day. I would have preferred smal tables between the machines, but the expense really adds up then.

    #199 3 years ago

You nudge my machines hard enough to spill a drink and you will be politely asked to GTFO.

    #200 3 years ago

I certainly nudge and slide my own machines hard enough to slop a full drink from a glass. Wouldn't take much i'd reckon. Half empty can is pretty safe of course.
