I just picked up a Tri-Zone recently and I can't believe there isn't a club thread for this beautiful pin yet. So I'm making one. Welcome to the official Tri-Zone club! This was the last pinball machine with artwork by Christian Marche and it really is stunning. Also, it is super cool that there are 2 versions of this pin. The prototype red cabinent version (with a different playfield and pop bumper caps) and the production black cabinent version.
A little bit of history about my pin. My parents bought this sometime in the late 90's to early 2000's from Marc of Marco Spec. They can't remember if they bought it as a project pin or as a parts pin. Overall, it's in fairly good condition. A solid cabinent, a near perfect backglass, and a decent playfield with some wear spots and planking. The plastics are in good shape as well. It just made the long trek from SC to TX this past weekend and I can't wait to bring it back to life after seeing it sitting for 20 years untouched. It was always this mystical pin with futuristic artwork. While in SC picking up the pin, I stopped by Marco and picked up a new rubber ring set (appropriate since it came from Marc many years ago!).
Here are some quick cell phone photos. More to come once I start digging into it!

Possibly Bally flipper bats? I'll have to look at the mechanisms when I open it up and see if they are still Williams mechs with a different flipper bat.

Anyone else have some interesting Tri-Zone stories or neat history behind their pin?
