An idea I had for awhile would be if the topic creator had some power to moderate their own thread a little. It just seems that topic creators are powerless with the content people put in their posts unless they were to PM a moderator. Maybe give us the option to make read only topics except give the creator write access. Like on this Post, people can come in here and post a bunch of crap and Nate can't do nothing about it.

Some of these posts make me shake my head. Nate has mentioned/plugged Pinside thousands of time on his Podcast. The segment "Forum Static" pulls 100% of its content from this site (atleast currently). The site has grown its users base significantly in the past few years and the amount of junk (some ive posted) has increased significantly too. Some of the folks here say off-topic posts in threads are fun and silly etc.. I'd like to see them make a serious post and have some people make off-topic posts that totally derail their thread. Im sure they won't think its so fun and silly then.

@pinwiztom, I liked the interview and would thank Nate/Jody/Jarod for putting in the time/energy to make that episode happen. Unlike you, I won't repeat my same opinion 8 hours later though.

Would be nice to learn more about the panel's you'll be on at SFGE and maybe a chat with the folks running SFGE.

MXV, So you're just saying Nate is using poor etiquette by doing what he is doing and said? (Not illegal)

I'm only 15 minutes in and so far I find it interesting and will continue to listen to the rest.

Quoted from Skins:

You're not the brightest bulb in the pack are you? I was complimenting Nate. Why else would I say, "Good job so far Nate, not letting him off the hook and redirecting him when needed."

Quoted from C2CPinball:

He says on the show the company has no money, and it is only still going from personal money he is using. If he is still taking money for games (which I did not have first hand, verifiable proof of), then that is really bad and I hope people can find the show and hear what a bad situation this is.

His personal money is the salary he paid himself at Zidware.

I don't think Men & Women are equal when it comes to playing Pinball:

1) Men are taller which gives them a better perspective/view of the playfield.
2) Men are stronger which allows them to nudge/slide save better.

My first group at Pinburgh I played with the #1 ranked female in the world Helena Walter. I would say she is taller and stronger then the average female.

My close pinball buddy is ranked in top 16 womens ranking and ive watched her play for many hours. Ive been able to make nudges/move games around to save balls where she is simply unable to. Her primary success comes from knowing the rules, accuracy in shot making and being able to control her nerves.

Quoted from TaylorVA:

Completely disagree with this. I play with some men that only break 120lbs wet and they put up some of the biggest scores I have ever personally seen. And then when you look at some of the kids playing today the whole height, strength argument goes out the window.
Same rule applies to everyone, play better.

Ill respond once and leave it at that since i don't want to clog this thread up. Will there be exceptions like Escher who was born and raised with pinballs in his house? sure. Will there be people who don't nudge at all but are very accurate who are great players? sure.

Being stronger and taller IS an advantage and that is my point. If you disagree that this is an advantage and shorter/weaker people are better pinball players, we'll just agree to disagree and im ok with that.

Quoted from TaylorVA:

so we agree that gender has nothing to do with it?

Quoted from Whysnow:

yup, we can agree that you are wrong.
Whatever personal biases you have are easily disproven by looking at MANY of the players that are really good and much smaller that what you consider to be a weight/height advantage.
Ever meet Josh Henderson?
Should we continue with more examples of really great players that are not able to perform on a higher level?

I wanted to apologize to you two and anyone else I might of offended and have changed my stance on this. I think practicing, playing better etc.. makes the difference between two players and not the sex.

Quoted from Butterflygirl24:

Nate if it is that mundane then please don't ever play my Star Light again! Most people enjoy it and there is alot more to it than apparently you are aware of. Yes not that complicated, but a fun game getting your bonus to 10X is key to having a great score! I don't own it simply because it is rare...
Phoebe

He used Star Light metaphorically.

P.S. Thank You for bringing games out to events like that!

I understood and purchased IMVE and it is just a refreshed Iron Man Original. Lets say the difference between the original and Vault were 5-7%.

When it comes to SM, besides the pf / rules the entire game looks different. To me with Sterns 2nd Vault title it taints that brand. When people want a Tron Vault or LOTR Vault what will Stern produce? Will it be a slight difference like Iron Man or will it have all new art/dots/call outs etc.

Why did Stern make this change to the Spiderman pin? Was it because it was a mistake to make the first SM based off the movie or what.

Its just odd to me personally.

Aurich, you interview very well / are very well spoken. IMO one of the best interviews Nate has done..

(Im making a formal request for a follow-up interview when the game ships)
