Great episodes Nate; I listened to both while on the ferry and walking to work this morning.
Thanks for providing some much needed insight as well as intelligent perspective to this issue!
Quoted from pinwiztom:All the "drama" , trolling and OT derailing,
sound a whole lot like what used to happen on the RGP site years ago,
before pinside became the forum of choice.
Now RPG is almost devoid of the trash
and has become smaller tight-knit group and
a whole lot more enjoyable (for me) to visit and use,
though pinside does have all the bells and whistles,
making it a far more powerful tool.
Nate: keep up the pace and good work,
as soon as you put out another podcast
things will go back to "normal".
Your points are right on - I totally agree!
Quoted from TomGWI:Can't we all just get along!
And what's up with people who ask questions without using question marks?!
Quoted from bridgeman:maybe it is just me, but it seems the discrimination of women in pinball runs high on the west coast. I have attended many shows and events in the southeast and east coast and I have not seen this?
I don't think it's any higher on the west coast than elsewhere.
Great show as always Nate - thanks for getting it out with all you've got going on!
As a TBL pre-orderer, I especially appreciated your insight into Dutch Pinball and their latest news. One minor correction regarding the licensed songs: there were actually supposed to have been 20 (not 12) in the game.
Quoted from Taxman:Why? So he can say things like he would take a Mustang over and 2 Classic Bally/Williams games?
Exactly - the man recognizes an excellent game when he has actually played it (unlike, for example, many Pinsiders who seem to have pooh-pooh'd Mustang based on theme/artwork alone) and isn't afraid to state as much despite the prevailing popular opinion.
Accordingly, I value his perspective on pinball games.
Quoted from Taxman:Oh surprise you have a Mustang.
Damn straight. And proud of it! I initially let the prevailing negativity about Mustang affect my opinion of it, but after putting in some serious time on the game, I discovered how much fun it is and then bought one. Not the other way around.
Whether Ed Robertson misses Josh Sharpe's point or not about older B/W games having more "heart and feeling" doesn't really matter to me. He's entitled to his opinions and the fact that he's intelligent, articulate, entertaining, and has a true passion for pinball makes him a good candidate for being a regular guest on a pinball podcast.
Quoted from Aurich:I thought the ACDC/Keith Elwin episode of PBWTP was great, looking forward to more. Though I'll be honest, might not bother to watch episodes for Sterns I don't care about, like Mustang. That's a game that feels like a result of the "all Sterns" deal more than anything people really care about. But hey, I could be wrong on that.
You are.
Quoted from C2CPinball:Mustang is like... The ultimate game for PWTP... Becoming well regarded in competitive circles, seen in many tournaments this year, and I don't get the feeling people understand the rules very well(I mean to say... I DONT )

My condolences regarding the loss of your cat Cisco Nate. That's the true downside of having a wonderful pet - they become part of the family and it's so tough to lose them.
I enjoyed hearing your first impressions of TH and GoT Premium. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on TBL; hopefully the games at TPF will be more enlightening as far as new code.
I enjoyed this interview - thanks!
Good questions and interesting responses. Particularly regarding the subject of Stern's vault editions; both past and future.
Would that be Kaneda's podcast? I listen to a variety of pinball podcasts and enjoy that one as well.
Quoted from stoptap:One thing that can become a bit tiresome though is hearing about a lot of talk about the format ...
Amen to this!
So Nate - enjoyed the podcast as always, but I have to ask - what's keeping you from having any pinball games already?!
Quoted from DMC:... diet drinks are really bad news. All sorts of issues are created in the body from the chemicals themselves and the brains response to what it thinks is a sugar drink.
And I suppose you're gonna say that cigarettes are bad for your health too?!
Ok - I'm not a smoker, but I'm with Nate in that I do enjoy a nice cold Diet Coke (or two) most days!
Hey man ( ) ... entertaining podcast as always - thanks. Did you skip fast thought #3 though? I haven't redownloaded and listened again so if not, never mind.
Finally, since you asked - I for one do NOT think IMDN is the best pinball machine ever. Or even Stern's best game ever. It's a great game, but I can't anoint it as the greatest since its theme and music don't do anything for me. FWIW, I'd personally pick MET and AC/DC over it among Stern music pins.
Congrats on your new WPT Nate - it was the first Stern that I owned and it's a LOT of fun - even more so if you're a poker fan too (which you are)! It gets a bad rap because of its art, but just roll with it and celebrate its true casino-like cheesy look.
So gratifying to hear you give Mustang the respect that it so richly deserves too! I would actually argue that this is the MOST underrated Stern. When you eventually buy one, be sure to get a Premium or LE for the added gameplay features and strategy that they offer!
Thanks Nate - happy trails!
Quoted from JoshODBrown:the last few minutes are certainly interesting...
Yeah - what was up with that? I couldn't hear it very well so not sure.
Quoted from RebelGuitars:Doesn't cost to listen to. Just sign up.
Quoted from FatPanda:You can just sign up for the "basic" (free) membership and have access to listen.
Excellent - thanks much!
I was under the apparent misunderstanding that to be an "insider", you needed to pay $39.99 a month and own at least 10 Stern games.
