Dang
You putting these podcasts out too often and fast,
so now i am way behind again.
Good thing is that now I will have something to listen to
on the long plane trip back to work in Africa.
cheers tom
Great interview with Clay and friends.
What Clay has done with the VFW building
is what i need to find and do also to house my collection.
Someday?!?!
Quoted from mikeincali:That VFW looks amazing. Reminds me of Peck's Pike out here on the west coast.
I got to visit Randy's place in Long Beach about 3 yrs ago, and he only had games in the downstairs portion at the time, would love to see how it has progressed since then.
He has a large collection to rival anyone's.
Would hope to get to play and/or see one of the rarest pins out there: Bally's StarShip
(the one of a kind EM version of Supersonic, with Star Trek's Enterprise on the BG)
His collection's only flaw is that his pins do not have master pin mechanic like Clay looking after them
A visit & interview by C2C would make for an excellent show in the future,
especially as it is only about a 2 hr drive from San Diego.
In fact there are probably at least a dozen collections on the west coast one could visit and talk with the owners to provide content for future podcasts.
I am sure there are collectors you could visit on east coast also, like Vic Camp's collection.
Finally caught up on my listening to backlog of episodes.
Always great fun listening to the show.
Do not sell any of your pins, just move to a bigger home.
OR hey, ever though about putting a pin on route.
Quoted from C2CPinball:Oh yeah, and.....
cute commercial, guess you got the idea from vonnie d?
cured my itch thanks
i am sneeking a peak at episode 97, on podcast garden, (even before its posted on pinside).
but dang my download speeds are slow, maybe because i am on 3rd world connection.
cheers
Finally caught up again with listening to 104-112; this past week.
So glad Ep113 is now here waiting for me;
can not wait to hear Nate's impressions of his 1st Expo.
Woo hoo
the wrap-up podcast to Nate's Expo experience,
after he has had time to rest and digest it all.
Nate: Did you ever make it into or out of Buffalo;
due to the recent snowfall?
Hope you were not stranded and have time for another podcast.
Be Safe and stay warm.
Starting worry that you did not make it out of Buffalo alive.
Hope all is well.
I guess you deserve a break and R&R,
but its been nearly 2 weeks since the last episode.
I can hardly keep up with your new pace.
Finally got around to ordering a new T-Shirt,
should have done so long ago.
Just hoping for a couple more C2C podcasts this weekend from Texas;
then all my troubles and worries and frustrations will seem to fade away.
If you want to have a chat about pinball while having a bit of fun
without the controversy or trolling, then visit the EM Hangout here on pinside.
For some strange reason everyone appears to get along.
All the "drama" , trolling and OT derailing,
sound a whole lot like what used to happen on the RGP site years ago,
before pinside became the forum of choice.
Now RPG is almost devoid of the trash
and has become smaller tight-knit group and
a whole lot more enjoyable (for me) to visit and use,
though pinside does have all the bells and whistles,
making it a far more powerful tool.
Nate: keep up the pace and good work,
as soon as you put out another podcast
things will go back to "normal".
Even though we had six C2C podcasts released in the past 16 days,
the fact that it has been 6 days since the last one
has me "jonesing" for a new one reeeaaaalllll bad.
p.s. Coincidentally met the real Greg Dunlap
and the POP crew at the Portland PinBrawl15 last weekend.
Time for another episode
While Ep170 was entertaining at times,
it seemed like an hour long commercial for Stern,
but I guess that was Jody & Jared's job.
Quoted from C2CPinball:Been paying the bills as they say.
No worries
But like i said
Ep 170 was one long Stern commercial
and they should have paid you for the privilege.
Whatever or whenever comes with Ep171
I am sure it will be great and worth the wait.
Keep up great work.
cheers tom
Quoted from C2CPinball:Free time on a plane!
But from where do you pull these pin tunes?
Or it that a trade secret.
You are also coming up on your 1 yr anniversary (in a few weeks)
of being married,
better not forget that one.
congrats
Quoted from Knox_Amusement:Could really use a new episode...
You may have to wait a week since he is on a belated honeymoon in Alaska.
When i watch a lot of DIY home improvement shows on TV nowadays and they show before/after video of rooms
after a remodel job, they generally blur out sections of the video when the room contains paintings or photographs.
I assume that is because the TV show is a commercial enterprise, which does make money,
even though the very brief glimpse of a random painting in the background has no real relation to any aspect of the show.
<Probably just some network lawyer doing overkill to CYA.>
The fact that Nate uses some photo clips in a photoshop montage for his podcast "covers",
I think would be covered as fair use by the copyright laws referenced in his previous posts.
Unless the copyright holder could prove real damages or that the C2C podcast was a true commercial venture,
I think Nate's borrowing such, escapes the ire of lawyers.
But then of course , Goodell and the NFL lawyers, also probably thought that they had a slam dunk lock
on their lawsuit with Brady.
Quoted from C2CPinball:Episode 200
-200 episodes!
Congrats on 200 shows (or is it really 201).
Starting to worry now if Nate actually made it to Chicago?!?
Must either be a pretty uneventful Expo or just so much stuff happening;
that he either has nothing to report or comment on
or he is playing so well in the pinball tourneys that
he is waiting until he is finished with the finals to podcast.
Or maybe he forgot or lost both his computer and smartphone again.
Family first, always.
Sorry to hear about the bad news in Texas and S.D.
Figured something was up for you not to be posting/podcasting,
We will just have to be patient.
thanks and cheers
for all that you (& Theresa) have done these past 2 years.
Have not had a chance to listen to #202 yet,
but hopefully you'll give an update on Theresa's knee.
And regarding the Roger Sharpe story,
not sure how many C2C listeners were able to see the re-enactment portrayed on
Comedy Central's Drunk History, but it was excellent.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/roger-sharpe-story-on-drunk-history/page/3#post-2737667
keep up the good work
Ep 203
Oh boy
Something to listen to
on my long drive back to Oregon.
Wondering if the next episode will comment on some of the recent changes to pinside.com
cheers tom
Nate
Did you go the Banning show and INDISC tourney?
Any podcast relating to such, upcoming?
cheers
keep flippin'
Quoted from TaylorVA:Would love to see Neil Shatz or Rick Stetta as guest.
Also in time would love to see Jeffery Neumann from Reno
as a player guest,
he is one of the premier E/M and Classic S/S players.
Whoa whoa whoa
slow down now
pace yourself
2 new shows in 2 days
Glad you are feeling better
keep it up
Did not realize you had a cat, since you talk about your blind&crippled pooch more often.
Sad news none the less.
Despite the audio & microphone problems
this episode (221) was suprizingly enjoyable and informative
for a straight up interview program.
cheers tom
Hoping the sabbatical is not too long.
Concentrating on playing pinball at PAPA will probably do your chances good.
cheers & good luck
Quoted from C2CPinball:The Final Episode of C2C as we know it.
Tell me it is just a belated april fools day joke?!?
don't spoil the fun now,
let other dream vicariously thru you.
Hope you are enjoying your "Free Time"
cheers
EP226
Bittersweet for sure.
Sorry to hear about your pooch,
probably for the best,
since it appears both you and Teresa
will be traveling and/or moving around a lot more.
New/old jobs and turning points in one's career and life
can certainly make decisions tough.
Been there and done that
having worked international myself.
Glad C2C is coming back (eventually full time)
but i don't expect the same output pace
you were able to do previously.
Maybe need to rename the show Continent 2 Continent pinball.
Hopefully Nate will designate a US supplier/shipper; if/when he moves to the other side of the pond.
When I transferred to a job in Scotland, a few years back,
my company gave me the option of,
a) them paying for a 20ft container to ship my personal effects to the UK or
b) a one time payout to be used for a storage unit back in the USA.
Plus I also got a sizable stipend moving allowance
to help pay for new goods and furnishings needed in the new move,
that plus paying for my housing and a car allowance.
Hope Taylor Guitars has as nice of expat benefits for his potential global travels.
good timing on new episode release
as i will be needing some listening material
for my trip to CALIF this week.
Also will be able to catch up on WWOP epsiodes in my backlog.
Quoted from toyotaboy:I see you kept all your games.
I think Nate talked about selling the Metallica in a past show,
and i bet he also let go of the Skylab and Bride of Pinbot.
He probably is just slow in updating his profile/collection list.
Why use iTunes anyway
As podcastgarden works fine.
Course, i do not have smart phone.
Nate: about time for a new C2C episode
or at least an update on your move
and adjustment to new environment.
Those missing Nate can listen/see to a new episode (#4) of pinball with the pros released last week.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-with-the-pros-episode-4-lyman-sheats-the-walking-dead
maybe we can shame him into releasing a new podcast,
at least 30 minutes with an update on his new life and job and
some insight on the pinball scene in Europe or wherever his new job travels take him.
Good luck and best wishes none the less
Thanks Nate for keeping in touch with the latest C2C.
But not going to let you totally off the hook,
as with the last PAPA just ending
seems like a very good time to release another WWOP episode.
even though you may have not been there
you can at least interview the Sharpe brothers
and Steve Bowden and possibly the new Champ Escher and runner up Bowen Kerins.
And lets not forget about all the new youngblood champs either.
You got to have a couple hours free this week, to help pull it together,
or put the onus on your co-hosts to put it together and get out there.
Thanks for keeping this podcast alive.
But hoping for new podcast
at least once a month.
As spoken by me, the great procrastinator.
Getting a little cold in here, so going to light a fire.
Been >30 days since last podcast
Been 2 weeks since Stern's GoG was unveiled
Nate, any opinions?
A Xmas wish to Santa.
I am leaving in a few days for long road trip to bay area
and would hope that i might be able to listen to a podcast or two from Nate
on the trip down or back home.
Maybe a year end wrap up and year in review show.
Come on Nate (begging on my knees)
its been 2 months since the last podcast
and you basically promised to deliver such over 2 weeks ago.
Hey Nate
Have a merry Xmas
Hoping that your pinball passion is still going strong
even though you are not podcasting anymore.
PS Happy Holidays to Teresa too if you see her
We on pinside miss you both.
cheers
I have a thumb drive that i just rediscovered with mp3s of episodes C2C#104 thru C2C#231.
On some old laptop or portable storage drive am pretty sure that i have the 1st 100 episodes also.
Need to figure out a legal, easy way and no cost way to upload them to internet
for others to access if Nate is not able to re upload to podcastgarden.
