Quoted from alveolus:

Great podcast as usual, Nate!
FYI, at Cactus Jack’s we’ve been running a Pinburgh tournament clone (granted with 1/4 of the machines and 1/10 of the players) for the past 4 years. And a Circuit Event no less. Including having an EM and early SS in each bank.

#2205 2 years ago

Nate, glad you're hitting RECORD again! Sorry to hear about your hardships in the last episode, and tbh, I was getting a bit sad as you were talking through it...BUT you are a strong dude and it sounds like you are getting along just fine. Looking forward to hearing whatever you post, pinball or not

Podcast Garden appears to be having mysql issues at the moment. Will probably be resolved shortly.

#2215 1 year ago

Podcast garden seems to always have issues. Surprised more people don't use soundcloud, seems to be rock solid.
I'll just keep hitting refresh

Threw it up on Soundcloud since we broke Podcast Garden tonight... Not changing RSS feed... yet...

Good episode! Nice to see that two games I own (WPT, WOF) made your underrated list.

For your WPT, if you haven't done so already you should remove the left orbit gate and change the ramps so that they only stop the ball in the River. Makes it flow a lot better!

#2222 1 year ago

Thanks for another episode.

#2223 1 year ago

Congrats on your new WPT Nate - it was the first Stern that I owned and it's a LOT of fun - even more so if you're a poker fan too (which you are)! It gets a bad rap because of its art, but just roll with it and celebrate its true casino-like cheesy look.

So gratifying to hear you give Mustang the respect that it so richly deserves too! I would actually argue that this is the MOST underrated Stern. When you eventually buy one, be sure to get a Premium or LE for the added gameplay features and strategy that they offer!

always grateful for a new show Nate!

#2227 1 year ago

Thanks... apologies for the audio drops during 250... I never listen back, but I did here to check the audio and it drives me crazy...

#2228 1 year ago

Man, you can really tell that Tim cares a lot about how this game came together. He didn't just focus on the code or rules, but the animations, music, story concept...it seems like he really engaged with the whole team to make sure that the package came together. Great hire for Stern!

#2231 1 year ago

Awwww, it's been a great ride, Nate!! Thanks for all your contributions to the pinball universe!

#2232 1 year ago

Listened to all 251 (+1) episodes, while mowing, working on pinball machines, driving, exercising, drywalling, etc., etc., etc. Will miss the show. Look forward to what is next from you. THANK YOU for everything Nate!

#2233 1 year ago

the last few minutes are certainly interesting...

#2234 1 year ago

Bummer, but thanks for all the shows! Hope to see you at a show or tournament again.

#2235 1 year ago

listening now.

thanks for all the listens, the good times, the good stuff and the bad stuff...

it has been a joy to listen along the way.

#2236 1 year ago

Thanks for all the great episodes Nate!

You started Coast 2 Coast about the same time I got back into the hobby. I listened to every episode and I think I have an original t shirt. It was my favorite podcast period. I always looked forward to new episodes.

Anyway, thanks for all the hours of entertainment and I wish you the best!

#2237 1 year ago

You set the bar for pinball podcasting.
Thank you and sincerely best of luck to you in your future.

#2238 1 year ago

Greatest teaser EVER! Can't wait to see what you're up to in a couple months.

#2239 1 year ago

Thanks for the dozens and dozens of hours of entertainment, commentary and information. You truly will be missed by the entire pinball community. We all really appreciate your passion for pinball and the many, many hours you put into Coast2Coast.

yeaaaa.. this sounds more like a rebranding of the show to fit in the landscape of the vast podcast world.

#2241 1 year ago

Nate Shivers, thank you. Like rockytop, your podcast launch coincided with my reintroduction to pinball. It was like we were step-in-step with your voice and zest for the hobby leading the way. It was great to hear your enjoyment of the simple things: getting some LEDs to put in a game, dealing with tech issues like a normal person, stumbling upon games in the wild.

Like others have said: you are the trailblazer. And was great to follow along.

Podcasts these days have strayed to the more formal, acting like experts, almost feeling the pressure to have a journalistic angle. Your podcast always felt like how you summarized it: your love letter to pinball.

You’re a good dude, Nate. I hope you take steps to make sure the content you created is always available for others to enjoy... it’s such a bummer that the Silverball Podcast is no longer available. Don't let that happen to your contribution to the hobby! Hats off to ya... sad to see C2C close up shop.

Thanks Nate, loved listening to C2C. Good luck with your future ventures!

#2243 1 year ago

Thanks Nate - happy trails!

Quoted from JoshODBrown:

the last few minutes are certainly interesting...

Yeah - what was up with that? I couldn't hear it very well so not sure.

#2244 1 year ago

Thanks Nate! Really enjoyed your podcast over the years. You inspired many new podcasters that will keep the passion for pinball going.

#2245 1 year ago

I just started listening to your podcast, I'm on #30! I really like it, thank you so much for putting in 251 episodes in!

Also, you moved to Amsterdam?!

#2246 1 year ago

LOVED the Avengers-like teaser at the end...

Best of luck in the future Nate!

#2247 1 year ago
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

Thanks Nate - happy trails!

Yeah - what was up with that? I couldn't hear it very well so not sure.

It was a staged teaser. I know a fake phone call when I hear one. Besides, he edits his podcast so he surely would have noticed.

Glad Nate is taking the time to figure out how and where he wants pinball to fit in his life. We should all do a pinball wellness check on ourselves from time to time. Make sure we are letting the best parts take up a just the right amount of space in our lives.

Good luck with what is coming next!

FAST Pinball

5 Fast Reflections on C2C.

1. I enjoyed the journey of you going from new to pinball to pinball ambassador.

2. Well done from a listening experience perspective. I don’t know the technical points of podcasting, but I know quality when I hear it.

3. You were critical when appropriate, but generally positive and nice.

4. When a regular production, I looked forward to each new showing up on my phone.

5. Your show will be missed!

#2249 1 year ago

End of era. Still in my eyes the best pinball podcast. Glad to see something else is on the horizon.
Hope to see you at Pinburgh. Take care Nate.
