Thanks for the kind words, and the tutorials will continue getting cranked out. I'll forward the comment about the audio balance, any recommendations?

I, for one, would love to be able to see your hands during your tutorials.

That way, when you pull off some nudge or ball-saving maneuver, I can figure out "how the heck did he just do that?".

I would actually like to see your crappy games more than anything Bowen. It would be cool if you had a "spoof reel" area or something like that, where you attempt to make a vid for a certain game, and it's just one of those days, you know, to let us know it still happens to everyone.

I think it would give us all a lot of confidence if we could see you have a fast 3 ball game completely be the subject of TZ's left drain too

Actually I'd be more interested in a link to buy it, I doubt it's something I'd see on the shelf at a store.

If I know how it looks I will pick one up when I run into it at a specialised shop. '3m lube' is rather general for a name but I agree with you a link would be better and faster.

The Super Lube teflon gel looks like this:

http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3506761

They make a PTFE oil with a needle applicator too, great for little joints like where the spinner arm rests in the bracket.

I have found it at most hardware stores - Ace, Home Depot, etc.

I would consider doing that, but there would be constant bleeping of my profanity-laden responses to watching all 6 balls drain in 4 seconds during a heated multiball.

I swear they go down the outlane like cars in a train one after the other.

Another great tutorial. Thanks Bowen. I can now use this knowledge to go to my friends house and crush his score.

Great video!

Someone needs to change the bulb on the lowest target in that 5 bank thats used for the skill shot. That bugged me the entire time, lol. The hold bonus light too.

I'm sure that is probably something being built eventually. Everything gets recorded. And with the live tutorials (like Star Trek in December ... next one coming soon) there's no rewind button. It's probably better as a spoof reel than leaving them in the videos, since people will watch them and wonder why the play sucks

A lot of the time, what you see is what actually happened: Transformers was two games, one for each side; Dracula and Simpsons and Indy 500 were each one game. The two I can think of where things took a very long time were Eight Ball Deluxe and Stars.

Any one else notice that sweet T-1000 vs a shotgun animation? Is that an extra ball animation? Even he made mention he hasnt seen that one before. I havent seen it EVER. I am guessing its an extra ball - shoot again - animation? I have EB off so that might be why, but I thought they hid all mention of t-1000 being liquid metal since it was still a secret when pin was released.

I can vouch, T2 does weird crap at times and I can see why it was banned. I get weird sequences all the time when I do too much at once. It gets in a weird loop of modes until you drain all your balls. I thought it was just my machine, guess not.

Bowen, how many takes for Creature from the Black Lagoon?

#62 10 years ago

Creature was first game. The simplest way to tell is by looking at the number of credits on the machine, comparing the stock introduction ("here's the game... here's the features") to the gameplay. Also, the horrible flub ending to Ball 1 probably wouldn't have survived unless the rest of the game went a little better...

That's the extra ball sequence.

Great video. Thank you for all of the hard work with producing these tutorials.

I had just gotten my T2 when this vid was announced.
hadn't played one since I was in high school... and who paid attention to rules and scoring back then? I was happy to keep the ball alive for more than 3 minutes.

Went home and immediately tried out everything in the vid. It was super nostalgic to have T2 in my house, but Bowen's vid made it that much more enjoyable. Thanks man!

My Banzai Run is coming back home in a couple of weeks and I spent a good chunk of last night watching this a few times! Can't wait now!

PS.
Love the interflip Dragon avatar!

Well I was hoping you would come back with something nice like "yes, it takes a few to get a good vid", but that is down right depressing (and yet of course amazing none the less). I watched your BSD game... I've cracked 2b I think only twice ever.

Funny you mention Stars. I was glad to see you did that game. Not that I've played them all, but I think that might be my favorite classic stern. I really enjoy the layout and rules on that game, given the time.

I went down and played some T2 in the cafeteria today, and Bowen makes it look so damn easy.

After watching the video I was confident I was going to get a few super jackpots in a row, and completely hosed myself with several <10mil games.

I've given up for the day, it's not happening today, lol.

No it's not.....and I've wanted one ever since I saw the PAPA video with those insane pop bumpers!

I used to use his multiball strategy in the arcades. Of course, I wouldn't get anywhere near his scores, but I was happy if I got a couple of super jackpots in a game.

Up in these parts there seems to be an unusual concentration of Dragons. I'm sure this doesn't make you feel any better
someone told me that there was a hidden cache of NIB Interfip Dragons found in a warehouse several years back and they were sold off pretty cheap. I only learned of the game last year, but have since come accross 4 local collectors that have one, and they're all in HUO condition!
However, from what they've told me, it get's old pretty quick.

I think Bowen's vid for Flash Gordon has a few of those 'human' moments. Great tutorial:

I wonder how many of those yellow shirts we will see at Pinburgh on the first day? I know I will have mine on!

I'll have mine on at PAPA 17 this year.
