How often do you all change out the ball for new ones ? its been a while for me

    #2 8 years ago

I never keep a game long enough to replace them. None of my games stay more than a year. All get super shiny's the day they arrive tho.

Fred, those balls of yours are old enough....time for some fresh ones!

    And since its the Holidays.....

Depends on the pin. Newer pins have stronger flipper coils and lots of steel parts that can really beat a ball up. Older EM pins can be very gentle on balls and rust in the first thing I see damaging them.

Look at the balls and change as needed when they show pitting, scratches or damage. Some of my pins see a lot more play so the balls get beat up quicker. Others, sadly have rust set in before mechanical damage.

    Every 3-6 months.

Depends on the pin. Ones with metal ramps chews em up faster than ones without. I inspect them whenever I have the glass off.

Every 3-400 is a decent ballpark, some games nick them up more than others.

I've tumbled some ooh shiney's that turned out real nice and reused.

I did. But I used too much wax and things got a little out of hand. Now the video isn't postable on this new "family friendly" pinside.
