    Colors look great!

Are you running 44 or 47 bulbs? As it looks like the lights are not very bright or are having a hard time shining through it.

It is a huge improvement. Steve always does a good job. O-din has a good observation. You need to up the light for that to look correct. I would say some frosted warm Comet LEDs should do the trick.

Why not 44s like it came with originally? My Grand Prix had those and it was plenty bright. They also tend to do a better job spreading light around than an led. I don't use leds period.

You don't have a repro BG I'm guessing

My biggest beef will old school bulbs is nobody makes a decent one any more. I gave up and went to LEDs because I got tired of replacing a crappy product. Comet’s new LEDs give off close to the same light (just more of it). You need more pop to get through the printed backglass.

I had one. Then sold it and the machine it was in. So yeah, I get it. Was just waiting to see if anybody else was willing to point that out.

I havent touched this machine yet and has old/dirty bulbs in it. I may change them to LEDs to brighten it up.

    LEDs look wrong on EMs.

I have quite a few bgresto glasses. 44s work great behind them. Maybe I'm lucky but I don't have a ton of issues with the current incandescent bulbs. I do have a lot of the old GE 44s squirelled away too.

Bgresto.com does not recommend them. It's their backglass, and they recommend Comet LEDS warm white frosted. Personally I don't trust a 44's heat so close to that vinyl backing, could shrink in spots over time causing wrinkles.

I wasn’t around when EMs were new, but I respect their lighting. I appreciate the incandescent look but prefer LEDs on the GIs and certain spots of the BG if it works

The BGresto backglasses look great but they do not pass as much light as the originals. I usually use Comet 1SMD Sunlight frosted LEDs behind them. For Grand Prix, warm white doesn't look as good as Sunlight or Cool white.

They only recommend them for lighting purposes. No mention of any heat issues. On their website the do a comparison with 47s and it's pretty obvious they are not bright enough.

Really in a home environment I doubt anyone is leaving games on long enough to cause heat related issues even with 44s behind an ink screened glass from Shay or Ron Webb. I have one on my Royal Guard and it looks like the day I put it in there. Pretty sure there are 44s behind it. It takes a lot of time for that yo happen and then throw in changes in temp and humidity from games being moved etc.

Next time I talk to Steve I'll ask him the heat question though and see what he says.

Very wrong. They wash out the art. I use them in a limited fashion for playfield inserts, but even then they are intense.

    Where do you buy them?

44’s are the way to go for home use unless you keep your games on all day everyday.
