Hi all! I just put my money down on an AFMr, will have it in a couple weeks. I owned a HUO original AFM for the first ten years, but had to let it go for a variety of reasons. Looking so forward to having my all-time favorite pin back in the house. I got the classic, and I got one that was freight damaged for a better price. I'll just need to do some repair to the backbox (the damage is in areas that won't be visible, how lucky!), and then I'll have to do a full tear down to get all the bits of broken playfield glass out of everything.
A little about myself... I used to run Replay Amusements in Seattle from 1995 to 2003, pinball has always been fun. Here's a waybac machine snapshot: http://web.archive.org/web/20030720092622/http://replayamusements.com:80/
I'm excited to see all the improvements in the electronics. Look forward to not worrying about bridge rectifiers or fried GI connectors.
And I am glad I came here, because the list of known issues (including the solenoid 1.0 vs 2.0 thing) are very valuable tidbits of information to have before I power this new machine on.
And finally, I attached my favorite picture from my original AFM...
