I’m very interested in this. Yeah it’s not a real pin or targeted to the mainstream pinball collectors.
But for the price I’ll probably give it a try. I’ve owned Haunted House and Black Hole in the past. Enjoy playing them but would never buy another one. Think this could be pretty fun to toy around with.
Also think this could open up the door for many young kids to play and just maybe other companies producing different games. Would love to see something like this with all the classic Stern games on it.
As others have mentioned would love to see this with a bigger screen for the playfield though.

Funny thing is, This will probably out sell any real pinball machine made since year 2000.

    #110 4 years ago

So looks like they already plan to release other titles next year.
Higher legs and a 32" monitor would be a nice hack.

    Quoted from Diospinball:

Some of those games are dmd games... How they hell do you play a dmd game without a dmd.
As I said before I'm actually intrigued about this product... And I did preorder one. But, I would not purchase one of these if it has the plain alphanumeric display for a dmd style game.
They should just use games that are pre-dmd if they will not go that route...
A black hole could be cool... But, I bet they would do the backglass image as a static image and not have the spinning blackhole effect... If they did however... That might be nice....
Still the first arcade1ups were just full of issues, and the newer waves got better and better.So.. I do hold out that there is hope... But, these to me don't seem like an improvement over the first wave. Too many too soon... I think they might blow their wad and poison the well for the future offerings... Yes, I know I mixed metaphors, but lets be honest. If someone blew their wad into your well... I'm pretty sure you'd treat it as if it was indeed poisoned.

Fear not. DMD/LCD is being talked about. Probably be similar to the SW home pin but better then nothing.

Looks pretty good from the video.

    #189 4 years ago

The platform is Pinball Arcade by Farsight.
Game size isn't bad. Actually thought it was smaller. If you wanted it to sit a little higher you can spend $5.00 to buy 4 furniture/bed risers. Since you're not going to be nudging it around would work great. Cab looks to be pretty sturdy. The wide ugly gray bezel is metal and removable so could be painted black easily. I see lots of modding potential for it. Looking forward to what they do next.
PS: It's a toy. An inexpensive virtual pin. But looks fun.
Here are several pics from Facebook. (Not my pictures or games)

    Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

I wonder if full size legs will bolt on?

If they don’t, they can be made to bolt on with a drill bit.

    Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

Dude, it's a 400 dollar toy. For what you get, this is a super deal!

Agreed. And I can already foresee these will be hacked to be able to play the entire Pinball Arcade collection on one machine. I don’t like virtual pinball enough to spend a couple grand on a game. However I wouldn’t mind having something like this to play games I don’t own.

    Quoted from Toasterdog:

Everything is laggy and the game is not fun. Gameplay IS slow and floaty.

Kind of like every Haunted House I've played at shows then.

    #290 4 years ago
    Quoted from gdonovan:

Raise the back up 3 inches and it becomes another game.

    Quoted from RWH:

Really? I've played many HH's and some were faster than others but none that were floaty. Op's must have jacked the legs up in front or something, at 5.5-6 degrees they play pretty good.

    Like I said “””””at shows””””
Kinda hard to set someone’s else’s game up to play better. Think I’ve walked away from every one I’ve played at shows because of this.

    #291 4 years ago
    Quoted from gdonovan:

Had mine with 28's all around with 3 inch blocks in rear and it was fast. Replaced the 28's in the rear with 31's and got rid of the blocks. Floaty city. Cranked out about 14 turns on the rear adjusters and its fast again.

Haunted House should have larger legs in the back from factory.
I keep all my classic Bally, Sterns and Williams with 28.5 in back and 27 in front. 1: it gives them a nice 5.5 pitch from the getgo and 2: it keeps the front higher the same as newer games.

    #293 4 years ago
    Quoted from gdonovan:

Owners manual lists a single part number for all four legs.
PBR and other sites list 31/27" maybe a Gottlieb bulletin after the fact?

Yes, 31/27 are the correct leg size. IIRC it was a services bulletin having something to do with weight of game and proper pitch.
Haven't owned a HH since the late 90's.

    Quoted from Bohdi:

Been a lot of talk in this thread about the arcade 1UPs. Never really thought much of them or looked into them much til I saw one today. Local FYE at the mall had the Asteroids version. Has like 4 other games included. Was on sale for 99.99. Is this a no-brainer purchase? I love the game, played it like hell when I was young. Is this a can't miss for the price, and are they worth it??

Fop that price I would buy as many as I could. The 1ups are pretty good with a little help. What I mean by a little help is. Many people replace the buttons with led lit buttons, replace the spinner as parsonsaj mentioned. Ad light up marquee and riser. All the games on this cab play pretty good. I've owned 3 of the 4 in real arcade games ad have no complaint playing these. Forgot to mention you can also replace the 17" monitor with a 19" monitor.

I did read on another post that they were aware of the lag and Farsight was looking into it. So it should be taken care of in future releases.

Just in: ToyShock has fixed the lag in the flipper and the high score issues in the game. All new models will be shipped corrected.

    #352 4 years ago
    Quoted from JodyG:

Definitely picking one of these up once they new cabinet artwork models drop. Not a huge fan of the Haunted House cab.

I'll probably pick one up also. But do want the Haunted house cab. Just wish it had devils dare on it though.

    Quoted from fuzz:

Any Idea on What are they offering to the people whom bought the first one and has these issues?

It was stated as a software issue and that they would take care of previous customers. Didn't read the whole thing since I don't have one. Supposed to give an official announcement soon.

    #357 4 years ago

Here is the post from the FB page.
"Hey Folks - Farsight Studios has fixed the "lag" and "high score issues" I've mentioned it here on this page and my YouTube channel. (PDubs Arcade Loft) couple software bugs nothing hardware related. The next batch of machines coming this Spring will be running smoothly and at the desired 60Frames per second. Note there will also be good news for existing Toy Shock Owners as well, However waiting on Toy Shock to confirm dates/availability/details, etc. And we will make an announcement on the fan page. As you can imagine things in China have been a hot mess and have delayed Toy Shock, AtGames, and dozens of other tech companies and their "first quarter starts" if you will. Good news to come, hang in there I'm sure Toy Shock appreciates our patience and understanding of the overseas delays. Can't wait to share good news for all.

I've heard Q3 but with what's gong on in China who knows when they will.
