Data East, 1990Hey guys, I recently noticed on my Simpsons DE that when I hit the Ultimate Behemoth Ramp twice for a Random Award that I never get Double Score or Catch Up (Which I assume is a Hurry Up). I've had the machine since the late 90's and was wondering if it is truly Random or if there's a Technical Issue preventing those 2 Awards from being achieved?

I would venture to guess that the catch up feature is used only during multiplayer games. In Gottlieb games, Catch Up is a rare award that gives the player that receives the award the same score as the next highest, or THE highest, scoring player. I.e. Player 1 has a score of 12,000,000 and player 2 has a score of 3,000,000 (and has hopelessly fallen behind); if player 2 is given the catch up award, his or her score would then match player 1's score of 12,000,000.
