Happens once every 15 times or so on JD without the mod. Have to restart the game for it to work again. I replaced the trough opto boards with ones from GLM. I don't see anything wrong with the trough itself but I guess I'm not 100% sure. What else could cause this?

I had the same thing happen with mine. New troughs, and still had issues. It was very random on mine. I believe it is a free play software glitch if I remember correctly? I could be wrong, it was a long time ago. Try installing the latest software

Not enough data to help you. Is it never ending multiball? Or does the game just kick out two balls in regular mode. These things are very different.

sounds like a porno.

that aside, mine did that too. was told a new trough board would fix it but i never got that far.

No, I'm guessing the ball save timer runs for over five minutes when multiball is achieved. Now that I think of it, someone suggested doing a factory reset and I think that actually worked for me

The multiball I'm taking about is the normal 4 ball multiball. Like I said its very random and doesn't happen that often. I'm using L6 now. Maybe I'll try the factory reset and see what happens. When I do this, what exactly happens when it resets to factory settings? It won't mess up my L6 chip or modified opto trough opto boards will it?

Read up on ipdb. It sounds like a supergame. I may be out to lunch as well.

-Trudeau also advises us that Judge Dredd was the only "Superpin" to feature "Supergame", an entirely multiball game that could be had for an additional credit. "Supergame" also had it's own High Score To Date records shown in the dot matrix display."

Supergame launches 2 balls to begin with, and then the multiball gives 6 balls, so this isn't the issue here. More information is needed. Are you saying you randomly get a multiball? What is "never ending multiball?" It doesn't end, or do you just keep getting multiballs?

Factory reset is very unlikely to help, but it's not going to do any damage except for clearing out your high scores.

Seems to be happening more often now... I got this piece of information from somebody. I tried it and sometimes the Trough 2 beeps and I see it go on and off. Is this the problem? I better get up to speed on how to crimp and change connectors. I have several to do.

"Often times the connectors that plug into the two ball trough boards
are the problem.  You can check this out by doing the following:

1) Remove all the balls from the game so the ball trough is empty.
2) Go into test mode.  Find the switch edge test page.
3) Check to see that all of the optos are registering okay.
4) Gently start wiggling each wire that goes to the connector on each board
5) If the game beeps at you, registering a switch closure when you
wiggle a wire, then that wire contact is flaky.

Most of the time I would recommend replacing the connectors with new
ones.  But often you can just re-seat the wires in the connector.

The connector has a small V-groove where the wire is pressed down in.
Often the wires can wiggle loose.  So you will need a jeweler's
screwdriver to slip down into that V-groove and push the wire down in
as far as you can.  This should hopefully improve the connection."
